Two Mega Man Virtual Console games went on sale yesterday. Mega Man X and Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge were discounted in the US, but the sale doesn’t apply to North America as a whole. Unfortunately, for whatever reason(s), neither Mega Man title has been discounted in Canada.

Thanks to Steven for the tip.

Nintendo will be carrying out a bit of maintenance on Wii Sports Club tomorrow. Between 6:15 AM PT and 7:00 AM PT, online play, rankings, and other online aspects will be unavailable.

Could this have something to do with tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct? Perhaps Wii Sports Club will be receiving golf!

Namco Bandai has registered a new trademark for “Lost Land Adventure”. The name was filed in the US database for use with video games.

Siliconera speculates that the filing could be One Piece-related. Perhaps this is a sign of One Piece: Unlimited World Red localization?

Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct presentation for both North America, Europe, and Japan. The presentation will be held at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT.

According to the Big N, Wii U and 3DS titles due out by spring 2014 will be showcased. That likely means we’ll be seeing more of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Kirby Triple Deluxe, and more.

Mega Man is celebrating his 26th birthday today. The series’ very first game launched in Japan way back on December 17, 1987 for the Famicom. Mega Man has had a rough going these past few years, but we still love the Blue Bomber!

In the train stage, the rear car can change during battle. It’ll detach and move backward, so be careful! This pic features the Linebeck Trading Company, which is being transported for some reason.

Hey everyone, it’s Patrick here. I might not be part of the usual podcast crew, but this year I’m trying to put together a podcast showcasing the very best of game music from throughout the year.

While there’s plenty of music from this year that I personally love, I want to know what everyone’s favourite soundtracks are so I’ve put a short poll together. OK, so it’s not really that short, but hopefully people won’t be wondering why their favourite game wasn’t included on the poll. I’ll leave it to you decide what constitutes a game from 2013 – I’ve included some games like Bravely Default on the list, even though it will technically be released three years in a row. Of course, it’s also limited to Nintendo consoles, partly because of the name of the site and partly because no-one wants to edit a 10-hour podcast.

Let your voice heard through this handy dandy voting form and I might just read your comments out on the podcast.

Update: Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll. I’m tabulating the results now so I won’t be counting any new votes. Merry Christmas!
