More Wii U patents have been uncovered over the past few days. There hasn’t been a ton of information from the documents, but various console-related images have surfaced. You’ll find pictures of the Wii U’s innards, stylus images, Zapper shell (as shown at last year’s E3), and more.

There’s a mix of good and bad news to report on regarding The Pinball Arcade.

First, the game isn’t coming to Wii. It’s not going to happen because of technical issues. And let’s face it: at this point, it’d be pointless to bring it to the console.

Developer FarSight Studios was able to confirm a Wii U version, however. The developer hopes to finish the game up “as close to the launch of the platform as possible.”

As was written on Facebook:

“FarSight developed 12 titles for the Wii. Unfortunately, the Wii isn’t powerful enough to run Pinball Arcade. We are very excited about the Wii-U and hope to release as close to the launch of the platform as possible.”

The Pinball Arcade was also being developed for the 3DS, but it’s been placed on the back burner.

FarSight Studios explained:

“We have a plan to get the performance we need out of the 3DS to run the ROM emulation, however some R&D is needed before we know for sure whether it will work. The 3DS version is on hold until we can invest the time and resources into this R&D.”

Last week we heard that Art of Balance Touch! will hit the European eShop on May 24. The North American release date won’t be too far behind. Shin’en has today confirmed an early June launch for the game.

EA has posted its fiscal year 2013 product lineup in its latest financial report. Need for Speed is included in the list and is scheduled for Q3.

A new Dead Space title is coming soon, too. Although EA mentioned it during an investors call, the publisher did not specify any details. The company would only say, “There’s no further information today but watch for several big product announcements from EA at E3 in June.”
