The HD-2D remake of Live A Live is almost here, and Nintendo has shared a couple of new videos for the RPG – specifically an interview with director Tokita Takashi and Kageyama Hironobu, plus a behind-the-scenes video for the “Go! Go! Steel Titan!” song.

With the interview, there’s talk about finally adding vocals to Go! Go! Steel Titan! We then get a look into the recording process in the second video.

License Global recently published its annual report covering the top global licensors, and it includes some news about Pokemon.

The report is designed to highlight the most powerful brand licensing programs at retail from 2021. Pokemon made the list at #5, up from #8 the previous year. The company’s retail sales also increased from $5.1 billion to $8.5 billion year-over-year.

ININ Games has announced that it’s working with Inkle to produce a physical release for 80 Days and Overboard on Switch. Both will be sold together in a single package.

Another product has been revealed for the LEGO Super Mario line – this time The Mighty Bowser building kit, and it’s dropping this year.

The kit “uses new-for-October-2022 LEGO elements to recreate the look of Bowser’s spikes and has many features, including a fireball launcher and a button to control Bowser’s head and neck movements.” Not only that, but his arms and fingers move as well. Users can open and close the mouth plus pose the arms, hands, and legs.

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Original (7/6): Nintendo will release a new Splatoon 3 OLED system and Switch Pro Controller, the company announced today.

The system will release first on August 26, featuring design inspiration from the game. It includes includes a set of one blue and one yellow gradient Joy-Con controllers with white underbellies and a white, graffiti-themed Nintendo Switch dock. Note that Splatoon 3 is not included. The whole package will set you back $359.99.

Publisher CFK, along with developer Project Moreum, today announced that Shutter Nyan! Enhanced Edition is lined up for Switch. The 2D side-scrolling action game is due out worldwide this October.

Shutter Nyan! previously released on PC, but the Enhanced Edition provides various gameplay improvements and new story content. The game has players becoming a cat and exploring the world unknown with the magical camera that can copy and paste objects.

Japan public broadcaster NHK is reporting that Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, has passed away. He was 60 years old.

NHK says that on June 6, Takahashi was discovered floating in shallow waters off the coast of Nago City, Okinawa Island by the Japan Coast Guard. It’s unclear what happened at present, but he was wearing snorkeling equipment when found.
