Red Hook Studios is bringing Darkest Dungeon II to Switch, Switch, the company just announced. It’s arriving on July 15.

The previous entry in the series came to Nintendo’s console in 2018. Darkest Dungeon II initially debuted last year, but hasn’t appeared on consoles just yet. Now we know that Switch will be joining in on the action in the near future.

SNK is bringing Metal Slug Attack Reloaded to Switch, the company revealed during today’s Nintendo Direct. This is a tower defense game in which you command troops.

Metal Slug Attack previously released on mobile. SNK has now revamped the game for consoles.

The HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III popped up during today’s Nintendo Direct with the latest news from Square Enix, and it was also revealed that Dragon Quest I & II are getting the same treatment. 

This release has taken a turn since when it was first announced. Originally, Square Enix unveiled the game in 2021, and that was only for an HD-2D version of Dragon Quest III. There was never any thought that the first two titles in the series would be getting the same treatment, though fans have more recently speculated that they could be a part of the package. The move makes sense as Dragon Quest I-III are part of the same story.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is heading to Switch, Nintendo just revealed. It releases on January 16, 2025.

Donkey Kong Country Returns originally released on Wii, and later 3DS. Speaking of 3DS, new levels from that version will be included.

As part of today’s Nintendo Direct, Focus Entertainment announced MIO: Memories in Orbit. The game launches in 2025 for Switch.

Mio comes Douze Dixièmes, the developer behind Shady Part of Me. The new title is a sci-fi odyssey that features a mix of Metroidvania and a unique art direction. You’ll play as a robot named MIO while exploring and conquering the Vessel, a gigantic, maze-like spaceship, to save it from extinction.

Fantasian, the well-received RPG from Mistwalker, has just been announced for release on Switch as Fantasian Neo Dimension. Square Enix will be publishing in Winter 2024.

Fantasian has been locked to Apple Arcade since 2021. The game was written and produced by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy. Nobuo Uematsu, known for his work on Final Fantasy as well, composed the soundtrack. As for Mistwalker, the studio previously worked on The Last Story for Wii, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and more.

The Mario & Luigi series is making a comeback on Switch as Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Nintendo just revealed. It will launch on November 7, 2024.

This announcement comes as a surprise as the series’ main developer, AlphaDream, previously shut down. It’s the first new entry in almost nine years. It’s currently unclear which team is handling development.
