In a recent interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, the developers of Pokemon Unite spoke about how the game’s roster was decided.

The franchise spans almost 1,000 creatures. But with Unite, the team went with a small, curated selection.

When asked how the team went about choosing the roster for Pokemon Unite, producer Masaaki Hoshino explained:

Switch is really the first time that Falcom games have had a major presence on a Nintendo platform. Over the past few years, the Ys and Legend of Heroes series have found a new home on the console.

While Falcom largely missed out on previously Nintendo systems, president Toshihiro Kondo says that it’s not due to a poor relationship. He reiterated with in an interview with Denfaminicogamer that it all comes down to the amount of available resources. That’s why the company has partnered with Nippon Ichi Software and Clouded Leopard Entertainment to assist with ports.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced a New Heroes & Ascended Fjorm summoning event for Fire Emblem Heroes.

Atlus is back with another demon trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V, and we now have a look at Camael. This is a creature that has actually had limited appearances in the series, though it did pop up in titles like Shin Megami Tensei II and Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon.

Thanks to the Megami Tensei Wiki, we have a little background information on Camael. Read more about him below.

It’s crazy to think about, but after nearly two decades, we’ve finally seen a brand new, original 2D Metroid. After skipping several of its other systems, Nintendo finally felt the time was right to create Metroid Dread for Switch.

It’s been about a week since Metroid Dread came out. Given that it’s not a massively long experience, we imagine that many of you have already completed the game or are at least pretty far along.

For those that have been playing through Metroid Dread, what are your thoughts on the game? Did it live up to your expectations? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Gameplay is in for Mon Amour, Onion Games’ insta-death kissing-action title. Earlier in the week, the title was published on Switch.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game:

Note: we’ve updated this post with a video version of our Metroid Dread review – check it out below.

System: Switch
Release date: October 8, 2021
Developer: MercurySteam / Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

Metroid Dread still feels a little surreal. The shock of a new, original 2D Metroid was palpable when Dread was announced, but the more one thinks about it, the more amazing it seems. It’s the realization of a 15 year old concept that has gone through multiple cycles of early development and dormancy. It’s the first original 2D Metroid in almost two decades, a span of time in which an entire genre named after the series has sprung up and seen thousands of games following in its footsteps. It’s a game that has expectations to live up to that seem almost unfair but somehow manages to exceed them. Metroid Dread is real, and it’s a masterpiece.
