QuakeCon 2019 is happening this week, and Doom will naturally have a big focus. Bethesda is planning a pair of panels for the series – one after the main keynote on July 26, and another for July 27. Saturday’s presentation will feature the first live gameplay demo of Doom Eternal.
Here’s the full rundown:
Since Switch’s launch, many players have complained about issues with the Joy-Con. Over time, the controllers seem to deteriorate (more so with the left one), which results in them sending input to the console without actually being moved. We have experienced this on our end, and aware of the issues you have also encountered. Law firm Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith finally filed a class-action lawsuit last week following the complaints.
The Verge reached out to Nintendo for a comment about the situation. In response, the company stated:
Update (7/22): The Squirtle Funko Pop is up for pre-order on Amazon here.
Original (7/15): Another Pokemon is getting the Funko Pop treatment. Announced today, Squirtle is joining the toy line.
Further information has not yet been shared. That being said, this figure is likely to start appearing in North America in the very near future.
Kill la Kill: IF launches on Switch later this week. If you’re interested in seeing what the game has to offer though, you can now find a demo on the eShop. It’s live in both North America and Europe.
We published a review of Kill la Kill: IF yesterday. Find our verdict of the fighter here.

Catan recently made it to Switch, but players have been disappointed with one aspect about the board game. Online play is in, but unfortunately, local multiplayer is missing. Developer Asmodee Digital commented on the situation while speaking with Polygon.
Although local multiplayer was initially planned, “both technical and game design constraints” led it to being scrapped. Asmodee said that being able to see what everyone is working with wouldn’t allow for key Catan strategies. A pass and play option also wasn’t possible since the constant player interaction between turns “deteriorate the user experience and would excessively lengthen game pacing.” Apparently, not many players used the pass and play feature on mobile as well.
Limited Run Games is continuing its re-releases of classic Star Wars titles with another couple of returning games. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for NES and Game Boy as well as Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for N64 will both be returning.
For those that are interested, both will be up for pre-order on July 26. Reservations will be held at 10 AM and 6 PM ET.
Daemon X Machina is now available to pre-load on the Switch in North America and Europe. Interestingly, it seems that those who purchase the game digitally will have access to a few bonus items.
Those are as follows:
