Update: This is now confirmed and will be releasing on Switch. See the image below (thanks GameXplain).

Original: During the SNES/SEGA Genesis era, games were made based on Aladdin and The Lion King. Many years later, it’s rumored that the two will be returning on new platforms.

HD remasters for Aladdin and Lion King were allegedly announced at the GameStop Managers Conference today. Twitter user wolverinefactor says they’ll be arriving on “all systems” (which would presumably include Switch) in October. The original soundtracks and SNES/Genesis versions will be included.

We won’t have to wait long to find out if there’s truth to today’s report. Apparently, GameStop will be opening pre-orders tomorrow.

Two Nintendo-related mobile games are due out within the next few weeks. Pokemon Masters is up first on August 29, followed by Mario Kart Tour on September 25. DeNA is involved with both, but one could end up generating more revenue than the other.

The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki said in a brief but interesting report today: “Nintendo doesn’t like the idea of players shelling out on in-game purchases and isn’t interested in making lots of money from a single smartphone game.” That’s according to “people familiar with the Japanese company’s strategy”. On the other hand, The Pokemon Company is “more willing to make money through the business.”

We’ll have to wait and see how these two mobile games perform in the weeks and months ahead.

Decay of Logos won’t be launching on Thursday as originally planned. Today, publisher Rising Star Games and developer Amplify Creations announced that following “careful consideration,” the game has been pushed back to September.

“This allows the necessary time needed to ensure players can experience our game in its best form from day one,” Rising Star Games said in a statement. “The decision to hold it back by a few weeks gives us the ability to make fixes that will improve the overall quality and experience of the game.”

We’ll let you know when we have a new release date for Decay of Logos.
