Disney Infinity 2.0 may include Maleficent, if the tweet above is any indication. Although an official announcement hasn’t been made, the silhouette seems to match up with the infamous villain.

Maleficent’s appearance could tie in to the live-action Maleficent film, which is set to launch later this year.

USGamer spoke with “one high-level localization specialist” in light of the controversy surrounding Tomodachi Life. For those unaware, some gamers have taken dissatisfaction in the fact that the game does not support same-sex relationships.

USGamer first asked its source about how much freedom Nintendo of America has in this situation, and whether NCL would have acquiesced to NoA deciding to add in same-sex relationships.

“On the one hand, it’s tempting to say ‘yes,’ because Nintendo of America enjoys one of the healthiest relationships in the business with its parent company when it comes to localization. No one else has the leeway to make sweeping changes like this one. The US version of Animal Crossing has added Western holidays, events, and items; the main character of Rusty’s Big Deal Baseball got a complete makeover for the US version; and even Tomodachi Life already has a number of non-trivial changes to the US release, which Nintendo has boasted about elsewhere. In an industry where it can be almost impossible just to get the original developers to add proper support for plural cases, NOA was in a better position than anyone to push for same-sex relationships in the game.”

Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind may have a shot at localization. According to a Siliconera report, Spike Chunsoft has been searching for a publishing partner in hopes of bringing the game west. That’s not a confirmation by any means, but it’s a fair bit of hope for the future.

Update: Now confirmed – see the (Spanish) image above (thanks Iván!).

Original: For those unaware, it’s possible to move content stored on your Wii – like WiiWare and Virtual Consoles titles – over to a Wii U console. There were a few exceptions though. LostWinds, for example, couldn’t be transferred for whatever reason.

That has apparently since changed. Based on information provided by reader linkvron, LostWinds can now be brought over to Wii U. Can anyone else verify this information?

More:

The image above comes from a classification on Korea’s RRA website. At the moment, it’s unclear as to what the listing pertains to.

The unknown Nintendo device is described as a “portable video player” and features the model name WIS-009. I won’t even try to speculate about this, as it could turn out to be nothing at all. We’ll keep the post updated with additional news (if there is any).

Konami may have plans to bring Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival to the west. A rating for the title popped up on the OFLC yesterday, though the game hasn’t been announced for North America or Europe just yet. Perhaps we’ll be hearing something official from Konami soon?

Ubisoft is rumored to be making a new 2D Prince of Persia game built with the UbiArt Framework engine – the same tech used in the creation of Rayman Legends and Child of Light.

French website Le Portail du Jeu Video claims that the title utilizes “the same techniques of animation [as used] in the last Rayman” and has the Prince’s body “divided into several parts (torso, pelvis, leg, shin, foot, forearm, hands, etc..) that can be animated independently of each other.”

The site goes on to say, “This provides a real diversity / credibility in the postures and movements of the hero…. The quality of the work is to believe [it is] 3D modelling [with] transitions [that are] are fluid and feel well made.”

Officially, Ubisoft has said that the publisher “does not comment on rumours or speculation”.

In North America, the game appears to be on track for a July release. That’s according to Bandai Namco’s official page for Unlimited World Red, which lists the apparently launch month.
