Monster Hunter XX is coming to Switch, Capcom has announced.
More details about this version of the game will be shared at the Monster Hunter Championship 2017 on Saturday. This will include a Japanese release date for the game.
For the time being, access a teaser site for the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX here.

Monster Hunter XX is an expanded version of Monster Hunter Generations. Generations came out in the west on 3DS last year. In Japan, Capcom released Monster Hunter XX on the same portable back in March.
On Tuesday, the North American Switch eShop will update with the new game Astro Duel Deluxe. Take a look at some early footage below.
With Rime’s release happening tomorrow, and hopefully approaching soon for Switch fans, there’s plenty of footage from the game going around. For those of you who don’t enjoy commentary in your gameplay videos, you’ll find 10 minutes of commentary-free Rime footage below.
GameStop has recently shared its sales performance results from the first quarter of 2017, which were described as “particularly strong” thanks in part to the success of the Nintendo Switch, among other things. Furthermore, Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmed posted additional facts related to GameStops report on his Twitter.
While the report obviously focuses on GameStop mostly, there are some interesting mentions of the Nintendo Switch. Around 5.4 million console units have been sold between it’s launch in March and now, and the console has a very high attach rate of 6 to 1 for accessories. The strong demand for the Switch is especially noteworthy for occurring outside the holiday period.
GameStop CFO Rob Lloyd said that it was likely even more Switch units could be sold if the company hadn’t had trouble securing enough consoles. “There is a contest among all the retailers, online and in store, with our good friends at Nintendo.” GameStop Company Chief Tony Bartel added that GameStop wasn’t even close to meeting the demand they received for the Switch.
We initially heard that the ARMS Global Testpunch would include seven playable characters. However, fans were hopeful that the full roster would be in after the official eShop listing made note of seven.
Well, bad news. That listing has been updated, and now says seven instead of ten.
Here’s a screenshot:
So that’s it then. No Twintelle, Byte & Barq, or Kid Cobra. You’ll be able to play as Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Master Mummy, Ninjara, Mechanica, Min Min, and Helix.
A rather silly rumor has been making the rounds over the past day or so. In the latest Boys’ Life magazine, a quote was found that led some people to believe that Nintendo will be announcing new Animal Crossing and Pikmin games for Switch at E3.
The quote is as follows:
“Since Nintendo already launched its Switch console and the epic Zelda: Breath of the Wild earlier this year, what’s left to announce? Updates on cool Switch games like Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Animal Crossing and even a new Pikmin title.”
GameXplain reached out to the source directly for an answer. As expected, Boys’ Life did say that this was only conjecture. If new Animal Crossing and / or Pikmin games are announced, it’ll merely be a coincidence.
EA won’t have a traditional press conference at E3 this year. That’s in large part because the publisher is hosting its own event dedicated for fans, known as EA Play 2017.
The full lineup for EA Play 2017 was announced today. Interestingly, FIFA on Switch will be playable for the first time (as of now it’s not using the FIFA 18 name by the way).
EA Play 2017 will take place on the following days / times at the Hollywood Palladium:
Saturday June 10 from 4pm – 8pm
Sunday June 11 from 12pm – 6pm
Monday June 12 from 12pm – 5pm
EA Play 2017 will be fully open to the public. Free tickets can be ordered here.
