If a new report from AppleInsider is to be believed, Super Mario Run will require 75 megabytes of data per hour with “constant, involved” play. However, the site says “significantly less” data will be needed in “most cases”.

AppleInsider’s article indicates that data usage will vary depending how you play. The site sadly doesn’t provide any specifics. Could the mode you’re playing in have an impact?

Shigeru Miyamoto hung out backstage at The Tonight Show and was asked to guess the sizes of random objects. Is it silly? Yes. Is it amazing? Yes. You can view Miyamoto guessing the size of things like a pizza, lightsaber and stuffed raccoon below.

Tucked away inside the Super Mario Run demo at the Apple Store are names and images of all 24 levels in the game. If you’d like to have a look, view the video below.

Famitsu reported last month that the Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom sold 260,000 units in Japan over its first four days. Now we have data for the entire month.

According to Famitsu’s data, the Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom moved 319,000 units. The hardware launched on November 10, and data collection ended on November 27. That means Famitsu’s number accounts for about 2.5 weeks of sales.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta show off Super Mario Run. Check it out below.

Since the Switch showed up on The Late Show earlier this week, many people have been picking apart the footage to see what can be gathered about the system. The latest speculation surrounding Nintendo’s new console pertains to it possibly being region-free.

Switch potentially abandoning the region lock – giving it the ability to play any game from any region – is something that has been rumored before. However, when we saw Switch earlier this week, the back of the unit can be seen with a CE marking. This marking is required for a product to be sold in Europe, somewhat similar to the FCC in the United States.

This raises the question as to why the CE marking was on Reggie’s Switch. Was he playing a European unit (which would seem unlikely)? Is it a sign of it being region-free? With the Nintendo Switch Presentation only a month away, hopefully we’ll find out in a few weeks.

Niantic is expanding the Nearby feature in Pokemon GO once again. Players “in most regions of the world” should now be able to test it, such as Asia. So long as you can access the game from the App Store or Google Play, Nearby should be available to you.

Also mentioned today is that the team “made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokemon feature functions when there are only a few PokeStops in range.” Sightings now seems to appear when this happens.

Niantic wrote on the Pokemon GO website today:

“The Nearby Pokémon feature is being expanded to more locations. Trainers in most regions of the world, who can access Pokémon GO from the App Store or Google Play, can now test this new feature. To provide a better experience when searching for Pokémon in the real world, we have also made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokémon feature functions when there are only a few PokéStops in range. We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary.”

Capcom has unveiled a 3DS theme that will feature a crossover between Megami Meguri and Puyo Puyo Chronicle. While there’s no release date yet, it’s interesting to see Capcom and SEGA working together in a new way.

That’s not actually all of the Megami Meguri crossover news. The game will feature costumes based on various franchises, including Hatsune Miku. Famitsu published images of the various costumes here.

Super Mario Run is less than a week away from debuting on iOS. To celebrate, Nintendo has a couple of activities going on with the StreetPass Mii Plaza.

In North America, Takashi Tezuka is appearing as a visitor if you have SpotPass enabled. Over in the UK, Shigeru Miyamoto’s Mii can be found at Nintendo Zone found within GAME stores between December 9 and December 26. Tezuka will then follow between December 27 and January 15. There’s a good chance that Miyamoto’s Mii will stop by in North America as well.
