Tiny Galaxy is coming to the North American Wii U eShop next month, the game’s developer has announced. The game is now locked in for a July 16 launch.
Creator Taylor Hajash confirmed on Twitter today:

No word yet on a European release, but we’ll let you know if we hear anything on that front.

Treasurenauts was announced over two years ago, yet the 3DS eShop game still has yet to be released. Those who are interested in the title can at least rest easy knowing that Renegade Kid will soon be shifting its full effort to the project. According to co-founder Jools Watsham, the team will be focusing entirely on Treasurenauts once Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is completed.
Watsham wrote on Twitter a couple of minutes ago:

Super Icon just released Life of Pixel on the North American Wii U eShop this past Thursday. The studio is also planning on bringing Vektor Wars to Wii U, which is targeted for release in 2-3 months.
Vektor Wars is “an 80’s neon future inspired first-person cyber shooter.” It features arcade shooter gameplay, nine worlds to liberate, and more.
Super Icon is also working on its next new title called “Best Buds VS Bad Guys”. We don’t have official confirmation about it coming to Wii U just yet, but Super Icon is a big fan of the console, and more games are planned for the system.
Here’s the rundown on Best Buds VS Bad Guys from Super Icon:
Best Buds VS Bad Guys is a pixel platform game based on the bond between two best buddies. The idea came about from my son, Lucas and myself – we call each other Best Bud in real life, and we both thought it would be fun to create a game where we have to battle bad guys in a computer world.
This is even more significant as Lucas has Asperger’s, and he wanted to tell and show people how working together as a team means you can overcome difficulties and be successful. it is about good over evil, about friendship, overcoming difficulties, showing you can make a difference! All presented in a beautiful 16-bit classic arcade machine art style, with a thumping good chip-tune soundtrack.
And as it is a Super Icon game, there will be plenty of references to arcade classics such as Ghosts’n Goblins, Green Beret, Bionic Commando, Black Tiger and loads more!

Nintendo has two sets of Animal Crossing amiibo on the way. There are cards planned for Animal Crossing: Happy Hope designer, as well as figures that have been promoted with Animal Crossing: amiibo Party.
In the case of Animal Crossing’s figures, it should be known that these aren’t specific to amiibo Party. Nintendo’s European website confirms that they can be used with Happy Home Designer as well.

Takahashi: Yeah, although there’s still quite a lot left for us to do. We’ve announced a release date and everything, but all we can see is a looming deadline.
On how Xenoblade Chronicles X is a deliberate successor, and if Takahashi wanted to make the story more closely grounded to reality…
Takahashi: The simplest answer, probably, is that I felt like, after working on a fantasy setting, it might be nice to try something new. Science fiction is a great change of pace. It’s a really interesting flavor.
On the challenge in bringing an RPG franchise to HD for the first time…
Takahashi: Probably the biggest challenge for us comes in the planning stage, where we have to think about how we’re going to use these limited resources — I’m talking mostly about time on the schedule — to create all the assets in such a huge world. What order do we need to take tasks in to accomplish them all in the most efficient way? There’s a lot of tech that goes into expressing the open world concept as well, making sure that it’s a seamless experience from one end to the other. That’s probably the biggest challenge.

A previous version of this story said Nintendo plans to hold its World Championship next year. This is incorrect; Nintendo has yet to say whether it plans to hold another World Championship in the future.
According to a report from CNET, the Nintendo World Championships will once again be held next year. The outlet apparently heard about these plans straight from Nintendo. There’s no denying that this year’s success was a massive success, so it makes sense to host the NWC in 2016.
Rumor: Nintendo wouldn’t let Yarn Yoshi amiibo be held at E3 due to fears of the NFC chip coming off
The Yarn Yoshi amiibo were on display at this year’s E3. That being said, Nintendo didn’t allow attendees to either hold them or see the bottom of the plushies.
That may seem strange, but there’s a method behind the madness. Supposedly, Nintendo was worried that an attendee would remove the NFC chip, or it would fall out on its own. That’s because the NFC chip is apparently sewn into the yarn.
