Publisher Incube8 Games, along with developer Mike Yamato, has announced that the open-world adventure 2021: Moon Escape will be released digitally on Switch. It recently had a physical cartridge run on the Game Boy as well – which makes sense given the aesthetic. 

2021: Moon Escape takes place in a galaxy devastated by an unprecedented war. The game has you playing as Tars Nunien, “a paladin of the Marked Brotherhood, whose only mission is to return the enemy war plans to the capital planet Astra Nova in the hope of organizing the last desperate defense against the terrible Kisur Barbarians.”

Chaosmonger Studio has announced a final release date for Clunky Hero. It will be out on January 23, 2023, it’s been confirmed.

Clunky Hero was confirmed for Switch back in 2020 after being funded on Kickstarter. It was tentatively planned for Spring 2021, but it didn’t hit PC until last November. Chaosmonger Studio is now finishing up the Switch port.

Pixel Edge Games is working on The Karters 2: Turbo Charged and intends to bring it to Switch, the studio has announced. A release window hasn’t been shared for the time being.

As the name implies, The Karters 2: Turbo Charged is a racer. A bunch of features are planned including a single-player campaign, split-screen and online split-screen, tournaments, and much more.

Fire Emblem Engage, the next mainline entry in the Fire Emblem series, is starting to reveal pre-order bonuses. We’ll be using this guide to keep you updated about reservations as well as goodies as they are announced.

This time around, a major mechanic allows players to team up with heroes from past Fire Emblem games including Marth and Celica. They can be summoned with the power of Emblem Rings, and their power will be added to yours. With the Engaging mechanic, appearances are merged plus you can inherit weapons, skills, and more from the legendary characters. Of course, the turn-based, tactical battle system Fire Emblem is known for is back.

Original (12/23): Sabotage Studio has provided a slightly more specific release window for Sea of Stars, confirming that the RPG is on track for Summer 2023.

The game was already confirmed for next year as of a few months ago. However, this is the first time we’re hearing about it coming out during the summer.

NAISU has nailed down a release date for Volley Pals, its cartoon style arcade volleyball game. Those that are interested in the game can pick it up on April 6, 2023.

We originally heard about Volley Pals back in October. As part of the announcement, it was given a Q2 2023 release window.

Original (12/31): Sidebar Games is wrapping up a new update for Sports Story that will soon be in the hands of players.

The title just released a few days ago, but players have encountered some issues. This upcoming update is intended to address problems that players have reported since launch.

The newest update for Melty Blood: Type Lumina has now gone live, bringing the game up to version 1.4.1. The update, which was released last year for other platforms and has now finally been brought to Switch, fixes some issues with the two latest characters to be added to the game, as well as some other general bug fixes. With the New Year’s Tour wrapping up, Mario Kart Tour has announced that the Space Tour will be the next event coming to the game. On top of providing various new space-themed drivers and kart elements, this Tour will also introduce the Wii Rainbow Road course to the game. Wave 23 of Mii Racing Suits will also become available, offering players the chance to obtain a Purple Mii Racing Suit.

Original (10/20): Nintendo is planning a new round of Nintendo Switch Online icons based on the N64, the company has revealed.

The promotion kicks off on November 2, 2022. Icons can be redeemed exclusively for subscribers of the Expansion Pack tier.

November will feature Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Kirby 64. It’ll be followed by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, F-Zero X, and Yoshi’s Story in December. Finally, January will have Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, and Paper Mario. Everything will wrap up by February 3, 2023.
