At the dawn of the new year in 2013, Nintendo fans looked forward to another Nintendo Direct, giving us tons of announcements and games to anticipate in the coming months, as well as future development projects. One of the mystery titles revealed shocked many enthusiasts of the RPG genre. Of course, that was the surprise crossover between Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem – two very different franchises at heart, but ones that share a connection with their deep character development, in-depth gameplay, and memorable experiences. All we had at the time was some character art shown between the long running entries of both series, but other than that and a confirmation of Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem in the works, fans were left in the dark for well over a year afterwards. By that point, most assumed the game had been cancelled. Now in 2016, not only is the crossover nearly here, but Shin Megami Tensei mixing with Fire Emblem is a match made in heaven.

The first wave of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE reviews are now starting to drop. Here’s a look at the early verdicts thus far:

Next week, Atlus will be bringing out a material book for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse in Japan. The official name is “Shin Megami Tensei IV Final Official Setting Document Collection + Journey to the Mythology World”.

The book will have plenty of content, including columns about mythologies and religions of the world written by Nobuyuki Shioda with additions and revisions. It will also contain many unpublished draft drawings by character designer Masayuki Doi. On top of that, fans can expect exclusive production commentary from development staff, three newly written novels (Krishna’s past and two more), plus an interview.

The Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse art book goes on sale on June 30. A few preview images are in the gallery below.

Character Colors

– There are alternate colors for all 10 classes
– One for each of the four appearance options for a total of 40
– 12 new colors shown in art for Warlock, Cestus, Cestus, Shaman, Masurao, Necromancer, Hound, Reaper
– Once again, you can change the color of a character’s hair, eyes and skin,
– These alternate color options change the colors for other elements of a character such as their outfit
