Capcom once again that Ultra Street Fighter II was “a smash hit”. The game has shipped 500,000 copies worldwide thus far.

Capcom commented a bit more on Switch stemming from its latest financial results. The company said that Switch is important as one outlet for multiplatform games. However, Capcom wouldn’t say if any exclusive projects are in the works.

The Wall Street Journal recently obtained a comment from Capcom in which a spokeswoman said releasing older games on a new console is not unusual for third-parties since there isn’t enough time to develop new titles within a year of its launch. Capcom has thus far released Monster Hunter XX for Switch in Japan, and will be bringing the Resident Evil Revelations games to the system this month around the world.

More:

While searching for the latest information about the Resident Evil Revelations games for Switch, which are due out for the console this month, we found an interesting article from Japanese outlet Inside Games. The site went hands-on with both Resident Evil Revelations and its sequel at the Tokyo Game Show a couple of months ago. Along with its own impressions, Inside Games also spoke with Capcom representatives. What it all amounts to is some information about the frame rate, resolution, controls, and more that we hadn’t known previously.

After many years of exclusivity, Monster Hunter is no longer exclusive to Nintendo platforms. In fact, the latest major game isn’t on any Nintendo system at all. Capcom announced Monster Hunter World at E3, which currently has no sign of showing up on something like Switch.

Eurogamer did ask co-director Kaname Fujioka about the possibility of porting Monster Hunter World over to Switch in a recent interview. But unfortunately, Fujioka was naturally cagey about the subject. He instead wants to think more about the future in terms of how Monster Hunter can be adapted there.

Here’s what Fujioka had to say about Monster Hunter on Switch:

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is making its way to 3DS later this month. It’s largely the same game we’ve seen before, but it’s not merely a port. That’s because Capcom has included some new features.

Capcom’s first blog post for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney on 3DS goes over what’s new. It has additions like the Japanese version, the ability to try again from where the trial ended if you fail, and more. You can read the full blog post here.

Update (10/31): This is now up on Amazon and is $17.70 off.

Original (10/17): It was over a year ago when we first heard about a dubbed version of the Ace Attorney anime. Finally, we have some new news to share.

Funimation added a listing to its website for the first part of the Ace Attorney anime. The debut 13 episodes will be sold as a Blu-ray / DVD combo. According to the listing, it’s planned for January 23.

The listing provides us with the following synopsis:

As a brand-new defense lawyer, Phoenix Wright is learning what it means to be a true defender of justice. But when his mentor is murdered, things go downhill fast! With all evidence pointing to the victim’s sister Maya, it’s up to Phoenix to use all his wit and powerful shouting to prove her innocence. Which is easier said than done when up against Miles Edgeworth, the genius prosecutor.

The Wall Street Journal and Reuters have both passed along comments and notes from Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima. Following the release of the company’s financial results, Kimishima held a short press conference in which he spoke about Switch stock plus sales, and also teased what’s to come for console. Aside from what Kimishima had to say, Capcom and Koei Tecmo commented on their Switch support.

Here’s a roundup of everything:

Capcom has unveiled a new aspect regarding the Switch versions of Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 on Switch. Both titles will have original mini-games built in.

In Resident Evil Revelations, players can take on Ghost Ship Panic. This is a shooter in which you aim for a high score and earn BP to use in Raid Mode. It’s accessible on the initial load screen.

For Resident Evil Revelations 2, Capcom is including Ghouls ‘n Homunculi. Here you’ll explore a deadly island as Barry Button, which is a tribute to Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. You can also go for the high score here and earn rewards for Raid Mode.

Continue on below for the official overviews and videos for the two mini-games.

Capcom has announced a release date for the 3DS version of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

In North America, the game is slated for November 21. The European release will take place on November 23.

We have a new trailer for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney on 3DS below.

In a recent interview with GameInformer, Goichi “Suda51” Suda discusses the game designer’s “strange approach” to development. While talking about developer Grasshopper Manufacture’s other remakes, Suda51 also considers the possibility of revisiting Killer7:

The thing about Killer7 is that, right now, it’s not easy to play that game anymore right now. That’s definitely something I’d like to maybe revisit and update.

This is not the first time Suda51 has explored the idea of remaking or remastering the game. Released in 2005, Killer7 was originally planned to be a GameCube exclusive. With the upcoming Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes scheduled to be released on the Switch in 2018, might we see older Grasshopper Manufacture games see remakes on the Nintendo console in the future?
