In its young history, Yacht Club Games has only made one game thus far. The studio has continued to work on Shovel Knight since its release in 2014 with a bunch of brand new content.

Shovel Knight still has some new things to offer this year, but it sounds like Yacht Club Games is starting to think about moving on. In a tweet published on the developer’s page, it states that the team hopes “to start work on a new project in 2017”.

tinyBuild will publish Punch Club in North America next week, according to a listing on the eShop. It’s due out on January 19 for $9.99.

Welcome to Punch Club, the Boxing Management Tycoon where you choose your own path, and find out who murdered your father.”

Punch Club is described as a fighter management sim mixed with RPG and tycoon elements. It places an emphasis on the story, of which there are “multiple different narrative branches and game endings to discover”.

The Next Penelope originally came out in 2015. A Wii U version was planned, but creator Aurélien Regard has since confirmed that it’s been cancelled on the console.

The one bright spot here is that Regard is looking into whether a port on Switch will be possible. It also sounds like he’s hoping to bring his next game to the new system since Unity is supported, which is what the project is built on.

Continue on below for Regard’s full comments on the situation.
