#Nindies Summer Jam to be hosted during September
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 6 Comments
The “Nindie” community is working together to highlight new eShop games across Wii U and 3DS over the next several weeks. High-profile titles will be discounted in North America by 10 percent during the first week of launch, and developers will share video stories about their projects development in the eShop. On top of that, these developers will curate a shelf in eShop which features some of their favorite games. All of this is formed as part of “#Nindies Summer Jam”.
Here’s a look at the release schedule:
Sept. 1
Axiom Verge from Thomas Happ Games – In this retro-style action-platform-exploration game, use the Wii U GamePad as your map, a way to easily swap between weapons or for Off-TV Play. A failed scientist dies in an accident, only to awaken in a mysterious, alien world. Where is he? How did he get here? And why do the fundamental laws of reality appear broken? Life. Afterlife. Real. Virtual. Dream. Nightmare. It’s a thin line. It’s Axiom Verge. Available on Wii U.

Axiom Verge team “would love” to have the game on 3DS, still a technical challenge
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 5 Comments
At E3, Axiom Verge creator Tom Happ said he was looking into a potential 3DS port. That’s something which still hasn’t been ruled out, but technical challenges could prevent it from happening.
Dan Adelman, who has worked with Happ, was asked by Nintendo World Report for another update on Axiom Verge possibly coming to 3DS at Gamescom last week. Here’s the latest on that front:
“We would love to, but we’re looking into the technical feasibility. Even though the graphics/artstyle is very retro-looking, there’s actually a lot that’s technically going on under the hood. It’s always funny when people look at it and say ‘Oh, you could run that on the NES’, and I laugh because there’s no way you could run that on a NES. It really pushes the Wii U hardware. We’re investigating what it would take to bring it to the 3DS. We probably wouldn’t be able to, if we were able to do it at all, there would have to be some compromises made. We don’t know what those compromises would be, and if it’s not going to be a great experience we don’t want to do it. We’re looking into it now, if I had a magic wand and could make it play perfectly on the 3DS, absolutely we’d love to do it.”
Axiom Verge is coming to Wii U on September 1. According to Happ, it’ll be the game’s best version.

Quest of Dungeons won’t be released next week after all
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Even though the date hadn’t been officially set in stone, Quest of Dungeons looked to be on track for September 1 (at least in Europe). However, Upfall Studios has now decided to move the game to a currently-unspecified date.
The developer posted on Twitter earlier today:
PSA: Contrary to previously hinted QoD will not be released Sep 1st (next week). Stay tuned for global 3DS/Wii U release date soon. sorry
— Quest of Dungeons (@UpfallStudios) August 23, 2016
For those who asked what exactly is missing for releasing everything, just the 3DS version for USA. Almost there. I'll keep you posted.

When a final release date for Quest of Dungeons is shared, we’ll have it right here.

SteamWorld Quest appears to be the next SteamWorld game
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
As we’ve known for quite some time, Image & Form has no plans to end the SteamWorld series. New games will continue to be made, and it seems we have a name (even if it’s tentative) for the next entry. “SteamWorld Quest” was spotted in an official document published on the Creative Europe website.
It’s obviously too soon for Image & Form to be talking about the project, as it hasn’t been extremely long since SteamWorld Heist wrapped up, and it’s still getting support.
Image & Form community manager Julius Guldbog said of the finding:
“Look at that! We’ll share more about our next game when the time is right. It’s so deep in its initial stage that there’s no point in talking about it.”
