If you’ve played some of Team Ninja’s previous games such as Ninja Gaiden, you know how difficult they can be. Apparently that toughness rubbed off on the team when Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was in development. According to producer Yosuke Hayashi, Marvel Games told Team Ninja that the Switch game was too difficult, which led to adjustments being implemented.
Hayashi told IGN:

[Nintendo Everything Podcast] – episode #39 – Oni and Galen Origins: Switch Joy-con and the Furious

Hello my lovely left and right Joy-con! Are you stable or are you drifting? In this NEP, we talk logical about the hardware problems that are on the tip of everyone’s tongues to kick things off. We then hit you with fast paced news and some unintentionally analytical chats about games reviews and journalism. Then we cover Pokemon Masters, but we’re both kinda burnt out on Pokemon mobile efforts… But we have plenty of energy as we chew through all our lovely listener mails and tell the abridged story of when Oni met Galen. We hope you enjoy!
The best way to support our show is to give us a 5 star review on iTunes, so we would appreciate if you could help us grow! We really appreciate all your support and thank you so much for listening!

Nintendo published a new interview this week that examines the story in greater detail. Sumerak discussed how he went about writing for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, the challenges involved, and more.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has three DLC packs on the way as part of its Expansion Pass. The first of these, Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire, was given its first details at Comic-Con this week. Blade, Moon Knight, Morbius, and The Punisher will all be added as playable characters.
Going by Nintendo UK’s website, the Marvel Knights DLC will launch on September 30. We can’t help but wonder if this is a placeholder date, especially since Nintendo has only committed to a fall release window previously. Still, a September launch is realistic.
As for the other two DLC packs in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, they’ll feature the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

When docked, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 can reach up to 1080p. However, the game makes use of a dynamic resolution, so it can go as low as 720p in extreme cases. The same technique is used in portable mode, meaning resolution can fluctuate between 720p and 540p.
