Dragon Quest XI sold through 76% of its initial shipment in Japan, gave 3DS a huge boost
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Switch | 22 Comments
Japan just had one of its best weeks in a long while in terms of gaming sales. Dragon Quest XI finally launched to huge success, and Nintendo shipping out a steady supply of Switch units also helped.
Console-wise, the sales of all 3DS systems combined sold 417.62 percent more than last week. Again, part of this was due to the release of Dragon Quest XI. Square Enix also put out a special Liquid Metal Slime New 2DS XL design, which was no doubt purchased by many consumers.

Layton’s Mystery Journey sold through 75% of its initial shipment in Japan
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 6 Comments
Splatoon 2 wasn’t the only notable game to have released in Japan last week. Layton’s Mystery Journey also saw its debut. Dengeki reports that the game sold through 75 percent of its initial shipment.
That’s not too shabby of a number, and we also have to remember that the game was distributed on mobile. Dengeki does point out though that first week sales were less than Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy’s debut of 128,000 at launch. It went on to sell 283,000 copies on the whole.
