Capcom has reported its financial results for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2016. Net sales increased by 19.8 percent year-over-year to 77,021 million yen ($711 million) while operating income also rose 13.7 percent to 12,029 million yen ($111 million).

Monster Hunter Generations was a large contributor to Capcom’s success. The company anticipated that the game would sell about 2.5 million copies, but it ended up moving three million units.

Capcom is targeting net sales of 85,000 million yen ($785 million) for the next fiscal year. There will be a focus on improving penetration of its brand outside of Japan, increasing digital game sales, and launching major games including Monster Hunter Stories and Ace Attorney 6.

The Pokemon Company International has confirmed that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire have collectively sold over three million units across Europe since launching in November 2014.

The news is being celebrated with a special Shiny Machamp at the European National events. It’s similar to the one used by last year’s Senior Division Video Game World Champion.

Pokemon fans can watch the Pokemon National Championships as they happen starting this weekend. There will be three separate streams with English commentary from each of the main events: one for the Pokemon Trading Card Game National Championships, another for the Pokemon Video Game National Championships, and a third for the Pokken Tournament Championship Series. Streams will be available for the following events:

· 14–15 May: Liverpool, UK (Exhibition Centre Liverpool)
· 21–22 May: Kassel, Germany (Kongress Palais Kassel)
· 11–12 June: Milan, Italy (Mediolanum Forum, Assago MI)

Media Create reported this week that Kirby: Planet Robobot sold 145,000 copies in its first week in Japan. That’s based on sales gathered between April 28 and May 1.

Dengeki now offers further insight into Kirby: Planet Robobot’s performance. According to the site, it sold through 60 percent of its initial shipment (Dengeki puts first week sales at 129,000 units by the way). The last Kirby game, Triple Deluxe, sold 219,000 in its first week before going on to sell 734,000 units. This may make it seem that Planet Robobot is starting slowly, but since Kirby has an expectation more in line of an evergreen title, more sales can probably be expected for a long time to come.
