Just like the SNES app, Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online has been updated. All users can access version 5.1.0.

Nightshade is the lone new NES addition this month. Here’s a brief overview of the game:

Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online has been updated to version 2.1.0. Nintendo announced a new batch of games earlier this week, and the full set is live.

The lineup includes:

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been updated to version 10.0.0. The main highlight here is the limited-time Sephiroth Challenge, which was just announced during today’s presentation with Masahiro Sakurai.

Below are the official patch notes:

Civilization VI

Civilization VI was given its latest update today. It includes the new City-State picker, which lets you choose which City-States you would like to include in your next game and the Searchable Unit List, which will help you search and filter functions in the World Tracker panel to quickly find any unit on the map. There’s that plus lots of balancing, improvements, fixes, and more.

Below are the full patch notes:

Roundguard

The roguelike puzzler Roundguard has received a new update. Version 1.2.0, known as “The Gift Giver” update, adds a snowy new event, treasures, and three new characters.

Here are some additional details about the update plus a trailer:

Space Crew

Curve Digital and Runner Duck have announced a new 1.2 update for Space Crew, the strategic simulation game.

It’ll include the following:

Pikkon

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 continues to roll on with new content. The latest issue of V Jump has revealed that a new character and more will be added to the game.

First up, Pikkon is on the way as a new playable character, and one of his moves appears to be Thunder Flash. We’re also hearing that Janemba will be represented as a new CC mascot. Finally, Bardock and Gine’s outfits from the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie will be appearing in create-a-character.

V Jump reports that the next free Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be going live in Spring 2021.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill

Thunderful Publishing and Megagon Industries have announced that the next free Daily Rides season for Lonely Mountains: Downhill is dropping today. Daily Rides Season 3, titled Winter Rides, can be accessed alongside version 1.1.6.

Winter Rides allows players to “unlock some cheerfully chilly winter-themed goodies.” New clothing/cosmetic options are up for grabs, including the Winter Outfit, a blue and red ensemble which comes complete with a woolly bobble hat, puffer jacket, warming scarf, and Christmas Elf outfit.

The Christmas theme continues with a Santa beanie and Santa outfit as well. There’s also a fresh accessory in the Christmas Bag of Presents and a new Rudolph Paint Job for your bike, “complete with antlers for a true reindeer look and feel.” Finally, the Snowman festive garment turns your character into an actual snowman with a stylish top hat.

Lonely Mountains: Downhill is currently available for Switch via the eShop.

Swapnote

If you’re ready to be confused, let’s have a brief chat about Swapnote. Out of nowhere, the app has received a new update… and it doesn’t seem to do much.

Swapnote was originally made for the 3DS at the end of 2012. It allowed users to draw up their own messages and have them sent to friends through SpotPass and StreetPass. The SpotPass feature was phased out about a year later, which really limited how useful Swapnote could actually be.

A few years have gone by without much news. Out of nowhere though, Nintendo released a 1.2 update for Swapnote this week, calling it “Remastered”. The patch notes simply state that some problems have been fixed. A few folks have examined the new update and can’t really find anything noteworthy that’s changed or added. There’s some talk that the patch may address an exploit, though that still doesn’t really explain the “Remastered” name here.

A new update is now live for the Switch version of Hades. All players can access version 1.0.37119.

One of the main highlights of today’s update is the long-awaited cross-saves feature. That means after installing today’s patch, you can bring your progress from the PC version to Switch.

Supergiant Games also mentioned that today’s Switch update “includes various other improvements from our post-launch PC patches.”
