Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered announced for Switch

Today, Aspyr revealed that it’s developing Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered for Switch. It launches on February 14, 2025.
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness are all included here. Just like the previous collection, the three games will let players swap between the remastered and original graphics.

Satoru Iwata helped come up with the Super Smash Bros. name

In a new video from Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai, he spoke about Satoru Iwata and shared a tidbit of information that the late Nintendo president helped come up with the name.
Iwata is the one that felt that “Brothers” would be a good fit. That part of the name is a suggestion that the characters “were friends who were settling a little disagreement” rather than having a hardcore fight.
Sakurai said the following about Iwata and his involvement with the Super Smash Bros. name:

Taito Milestones 3 release date set for December

Courtesy of ININ Games, we have the release date for Taito Milestones 3. The collection comes to Switch on December 10, 2024 in North America and Europe. Note that the Japanese launch is taking place slightly earlier on November 28.
Taito Milestones 3 was announced for Switch back in May. As a reminder, the package includes Bubble Bobble, Cadash, Champion Wrestler, Dead Connection, Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, Rastan Saga, Rastan Saga II, Runark, Thunder Fox, and Warrior Blade: Rastan Saga Episode III.

Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles coming to Switch

Aspyr just announced its latest classic re-release, which is Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles. The game launches for Switch on January 23, 2025.
The lightsaber action game originally debuted in 2000. Players can expect classic and modern control schemes, new playable characters such as the Tusken Raider, the ability to enter classic cheat codes, and more.

The Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program has just been announced, which is intended to test a new feature for the service.
Aside from being a member of the Expansion Pack tier, in order to participate, you need live in Japan, The United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain. Additionally, only those that are at least 18 years old are eligible.

Nintendo explains why it made an alarm clock

Today’s announcement of Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo came a bit out of left field, but in a new interview today, we get to hear about how the whole thing came together.
A discussion was posted on Nintendo’s website featuring producer Yosuke Tamori and director Tetsuya Akama. Tamori revealed that the project began with research into motion sensor technology. However, making an alarm clock wasn’t the first thing decided – rather, Tamori said Nintendo was looking to “support people during their sleep, and we were looking for a way to achieve this.”

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update out now (version 13.0.3), patch notes

Nintendo has unexpectedly released a new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing the game to version 13.0.3.
Today’s update is about addressing an issue regarding Global Smash Power. Nintendo points out that the patch may cause compatibility issues with previous versions, so players are advised to convert them to video before installing the update.
