Reflecting on Pikmin 4, one month later

The wait for Pikmin 4 was unexpectedly long. When the game was first revealed by Miyamoto in 2015 it was said to be “close to completion” but after this it wouldn’t be until eight years later that we would finally see the game released on Switch.
Now that we’ve all had time to venture out into the world of PNF-404, let’s take a closer look at the latest installment in the Pikmin franchise, what it brings to the series, and what this could mean for the future.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster dev on graphical updates and challenges

In an interview with Nintendo Everything, Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster producer Koji Nakajima spoke about the process of updating the GameCube graphics for Switch and challenges involved with the project.
Nakajima told us that the main characters, battle backgrounds, and bosses were either “re-modeled or brushed up from the original models, and the towns and dungeons which are expressed in 2D, have been remade in a higher resolution so that they can be displayed beautifully on the Nintendo Switch while keeping the original art materials.” He also stressed that the team wanted to ensure that it did not “destroy the atmosphere and image of the original game. ”
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will let you turn off Talking Flowers voice

Nintendo has confirmed that players will be able to turn off the voices for the Talking Flowers in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
This is a new mechanic for the game, although it’s a bit of a small one. Nintendo previously said that the flowers are in to make the adventure a bit more lively – plus they may give you hints or even coins. However, not everyone will be interested in hearing them talk, and it’s a never a bad thing to have options.

Borderlands 3 coming to Switch

Original: Borderlands 3 is finally making the jump to Switch in a new Ultimate Edition, 2K just revealed. The game will launch on October 6, 2023.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder devs on Miyamoto’s involvement, wasn’t a fan of initial Elephant Mario design

When it comes to the big Nintendo franchises like Mario, many fans tend to be curious as to how much Shigeru Miyamoto is involved. Miyamoto is one of the most important people at the company as the creator of various characters and franchises. Even if he’s not quite as hands-on as he used to be, he still contributes to some projects.
As for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, producer Takashi Tezuka said Miyamoto would “give some opinions” and “make comments here and there”. Tezuka said in an interview with IGN:
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 reveals El Tigre

Original (8/30): El Tigre is joining Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, it’s been revealed. GameMill, Ludosity, and Fair Play Labs made the announcement in a new trailer today.
Other new characters include Plankton and Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants, Raphael and Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Jimmy Neutron. A number of fighters from the original game are returning as well.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder team wasn’t given deadline during prototype development

Game development often includes deadlines, but at least early on, that’s something the Super Mario Bros. Wonder development team didn’t need to worry about. In an interview with Wired, producer Takashi Tezuka revealed that the game wasn’t given a due date while prototyping was going on.
Tezuka said: “I wanted to prevent people from saying, ‘We won’t make that deadline, so that’s why we didn’t do it – we can’t do it.'”

G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra is in development and will land on Switch, publisher Freedom Games and developer Maple Powered Games announced today. It will be available in Q1 2024.
G.I. Joe Wrath of Cobra is a retro-style beat ‘em up game featuring franchise favorites like Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes. Players will look to thwart Cobra Commander in battles set at iconic locales like Cobra Island and the Pit.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is in development, it’s been announced. The game is planned for a 2024 launch.
