Nintendo survey hints at Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom details
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom received its latest trailer this week, but Nintendo has been very careful in which it’s choosing to show. Even though the game is just a few months out, there’s not a ton we know. It’ll naturally be a follow-up to Breath of the Wild and that alone should give us a decent idea as to what we can expect, but fans are interested in finding out how the sequel will set itself apart.
Hints of what Tears of the Kingdom will have to offer have now been spotted via a Nintendo survey that went out this week. A couple of Reddit users say that this was emailed to them (once in France, another presumably in the UK).

According to Kyoto Shimbun, the 1st Division and South Station of the Kyoto Prefectural Police arrested a 36-year-old female permatemp on suspicion of intimidation, after she sent death threats to a Nintendo executive. The woman was taken into custody on February 9.
Last June, the suspect is believed to have sent a package to the mailbox of a Nintendo executive at the company’s headquarters in south Kyoto. The package contained a bag of incense as well as documents foretelling a date and with writings such as “I-I’ll kill you” and “Die Nintendo!”

During Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, president Shuntaru Furukawa was asked to comment on Switch’s lifecycle.
With the console celebrating its sixth anniversary next month and entering its seventh year, Furukawa stated the challenge will be “finding ways to encourage users who are considering new purchases, replacement purchases, and additional purchases to pick up a Nintendo Switch.” Furukawa pointed to the importance of new games and evergreen titles, maintaining engagement with the system, and increasing contact with Nintendo through The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Super Nintendo World.
Also reiterated that there is no need to change its pricing strategies for hardware or software at this time.

Nintendo believes Switch hardware sales still have room to grow
Posted on 1 year ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News | 0 comments
Switch is no spring chicken anymore as it’s coming up on its sixth anniversary. Simply because of its age, one would expect sales to begin trickling off.
Nintendo president Shuntaru Furukawa did acknowledge that Switch is entering “uncharted territory in the history of our dedicated video game platforms” during the company’s latest financial briefing. However, he still believes there’s room for sales to grow given “both new demand and multiple system demand for the hardware”. Nintendo will be looking to create new demand with new games plus “working further to convey the appeal of existing titles.”

In the flood of news this week stemming from the latest Nintendo Direct, something fans may have missed is that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC will be adding even more returning characters in the future.
For the first three waves, only new tracks were added. However, for the fourth round, Nintendo announced that Birdo is on the way. Confirmation of even more characters were confirmed in the Nintendo Direct recap we posted, but that was something may probably missed.
