Nintendo: “currently no plans” for Virtual Console on Switch
Posted on 6 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch eShop | 0 comments
Part of the paid Nintendo Switch Online service is a selection of NES games with added online functionality. 20 of those will be available at launch, with more to be added later. Being able to play classic games (albeit not online) has previously been done on Nintendo systems with the Virtual Console service, with the difference that games had to be purchased individually. For a while now, it has seemed increasingly likely that a Virtual Console like on Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS would not be coming to the Nintendo Switch – and this has now been confirmed.
Kotaku inquired about a possible Virtual Console on Switch, and received the following answer from a Nintendo spokesperson via e-mail:

Cloud saves are coming to Nintendo Switch Online
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Nintendo is starting to share new details about the full launch of the Nintendo Switch Online service. A big highlight, not known about previously, is the addition of cloud saves.
For those who subscribe to the service, saves will be stored online. If your system breaks or you purchase a new unit, that means you’ll be able to easily regain your saves. There will be some exceptions, but it seems as though almost every title will be included.
Nintendo Switch Online will have its proper launch in September.

Niantic CEO reflects on Pokemon GO Fest 2017’s issues and how the company will avoid similar problems this year
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 0 comments
Pokemon GO Fest did not go well for Niantic last year. Due to technical issues, many of the events that had been planned couldn’t take place or were severely impacted. Many players who stopped by couldn’t even log in due to an abundance of traffic and other problems.
Despite Pokemon GO Fest not going over well in 2017, Niantic is trying things again this year. The company announced earlier today that the big event is returning to Chicago in July. Following the news, IGN caught up with Niantic CEO John Hanke, who reflected on all of the problems that occurred last year and how the company has learned from its mistakes.

We recently had a chance to speak with director Toshinobu Kondo to learn more about Blade Strangers. Kondo talked with us about topics such as the game’s Story Mode, trying to create an accessible but deep fighter, and more.
