Pokemon Sun and Moon are bound to be popular hits as new titles in the Pokemon franchise, but a recent tweet from Nintendo has helped to illustrate just how big these two titles are.  According to the tweet, Pokemon Sun and Moon are not only the most downloaded demo title in Nintendo history, but now the most pre-sold game in Nintendo history as well. An update on the progress of Cube Creator 3D 1.2 has just been posted on developer Big John Games website from Ken Patterson, president of Big John Games. You can read the post below.

Dear Loyal Cube Creator 3D Players,

There has been a slight delay in development of Cube 1.2. We are a family business. As such, we have had an unexpected tragedy in our family and that has required much of our time to be devoted to mourning, grieving and dealing with many family matters.

I would also like to let everyone know we are down to last our last 50 bugs. We are working hard to eliminate these as fast as possible. We are back to 100 percent and are knocking off these bugs as quickly as we can.

Thank you for all of your support.

Ken Patterson, President of Big John Games

After rumors claimed Nvida was working with Nintendo to provide a processor on what was then known as the NX, it has recently been confirmed that Nvidia is indeed the partner responsible for creating the processor for the Switch and stands to make $320 million annually from the partnership.

Jefferies & Co.’s Mark Lipacis shared his analysis of Nvidia stock today. On the subject of what the partnership between Nvidia and Nintendo could result in, Lipacis had this to say:

While Nintendo has been largely uncompetitive against the Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox, we think the Switch has the potential to see more shipments. There are very few details on the price point, but we think the Wii and Wii U case studies are instructive. In the first 12 months of launch, Wii shipped 13m units and the Wii U shipped 4m units. Assuming 5-8 million units at a $40 ASP for Tegra translates to $200-320m in revenues and $0.11-0.16 in EPS.

A new trailer has been released for Skylanders Imaginators, featuring a Halloween themed character for the game. You can watch the video below.

The developers of Hex Heroes, which is still currently slated to be released for the Wii U, have commented on the Nintendo Switch and the possibility of Hex Heroes appearing on it.

While initially expected for release in 2015, Hex Heroes is still under development after its successful 2014 Kickstarter campaign. The game utilizes the gamepad and 5-player potential of the Wii U heavily, and as such porting it to other systems would be a tricky scenario. It seems that the developers of the game are hopeful at the prospects of a Switch port though, as in the most recent backer update they go over the details of what a Switch port of Hex Heroes would look like, how the controls would work and ask for backers input on whether they’d like to see a Switch port of the game if possible.

Based on the trailer, it doesn’t appear that one Switch can perfectly mimic the Wii U’s ability to display different visuals on the TV vs. the gamepad. Two Switches, on the other hand, could. One Switch for the commander, and one switch docked to the TV for four player split screen. This makes an assumption about the Switch being able to support up to four players, though – the trailer has only shown up to two (granted, they were on the portable screen, not the TV). At best, two Switches can offer the Wii U experience, and at worst, three Switches will be needed (for 5 players). Again, time will tell.

It’s worth noting that Hex Heroes is being built for ALL control schemes on the Wii U. We don’t want to bar players from joining in the fun just because they only have Wii remotes. This early decision will serve us well, if we can make the move to Switch, given that each mini-controller has roughly the same amount of buttons.

The first 8 minutes of footage from Mr. Pumpkin Adventure on the Wii U have been uploaded to YouTube. You can watch the video below.

Following in the trend set by Bethesda,  several major game publishers and developers have commented on the Nintendo Switch, but refrained from revealing specific details about any projects.

IGN has organized the comments about the Nintendo Switch made by the many different publishers and developers into an article on their site, and have rounded up some noteworthy comments. While most of these are as similarly vague as the comments made by Bethesda and Ubisoft,  it’s impressive to see so much support from third parties for the Switch.

A representative from SEGA had this to say about the Nintendo Switch:

SEGA and Nintendo have been great partners over the years, and we continue to with our support of the Nintendo Switch. We look forward to revealing specific game plans soon, but have nothing further to announce at this time

From Altus:

We’re excited to be supporting the Nintendo Switch and believe the games we publish are a perfect fit for the portable nature of the console

Gamasutra has published an article detailing the reactions of several prominent game developers to the reveal of the Nintendo Switch.

The article on Gamasutra has some very respected names both to Nintendo fans and in the general games industry. Some of the more prominent include David D’angelo of Yacht Club Games and Thomas Happ, creator of Axiom Verge. While many of these developers make obvious their excitement for creating games on the Switch, these aren’t official confirmations as of yet. Take these with a grain of salt.

David D’angelo of Yacht Club Games had this to say about the Nintendo Switch:

At Yacht Club Games, we’re very excited for the Nintendo Switch! Nintendo continues to put fun first by focusing on delivering new, engaging ways to play, which is what we’re all about! We can’t wait to take advantage of the system’s capability to have local and online multiplayer anywhere. It will allow for some truly great game experiences. We can only imagine the pure joy we’ll have playing Nintendo’s games both on the go and at home.
