LEGO Dimensions is set to be a bit different for its second year on shelves, with the new expansion packs focusing on their source material, rather than the overarching LEGO Dimensions story. Interviewed by Eurogamer, producer Mark Warburton discussed the shift, saying:

We wanted to try something different [with Story Packs] and tell the story of those movies. This year is going to be a great barometer of what the appetite is out there, to see if people like our story or want something else. We’ll see if the preference is that they want to play the whole Ghostbusters movie or Fantastic Beasts movie.

Warburton also discussed two exclusive figures. He emphasized that the Supergirl figure, which is currently only available when buying the PS4 Starter Pack, is a timed exclusive, meaning that she could find her way to different sets in the future. He also commented on high markup price on the Green Arrow figure, which is exclusive as a giveaway at demo events and thus can only be reliably obtained through sites like eBay, saying “We never saw that coming.”
He also reiterated previously known information about the game. Touching on Star Wars and Marvel, Warburton stated that they each had their own LEGO games and thus are on a different track than Dimensions. He also reminded that there are more packs coming throughout the year, like the recently revealed LEGO Batman sets and the unrevealed Powerpuff Girls, and also that the game is still on track for its current three-year plan.

With Monster Hunter Stories releasing soon in Japan, Capcom is working at marketing the 3DS title with commercials. You can watch the two commercials below to see the excitement:

Update 2: Bumped to the top. The patch is now live on iOS and Android.

Update: Niantic has now officially announced the patch and notes. Find the full notice after the break.

Original A new patch, version 1.9.0 (iOS) and 0.39.0 (Android), will be arriving in Pokemon GO soon. Serebii reports that the patch will allow Pokemon GO Plus users to capture Pokemon through Incense, and that Pokemon you have caught will now show where it was caught in its summary. That second bit was a feature when the game started, but was removed due to being buggy. Any other changes are unknown. Some users may already have the new patch, and it should be fully released soon.

Pokemon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, touched on Pokemon GO’s success and how seeing the main games make their way to smartphone was unlikely. Though he did not say that it would never happen, he did say that “the chance of finding success in taking a product made for one platform and bringing it over to another is quite low.”

Comparing the upcoming 3DS titles Sun and Moon to a mobile game like GO, he noted that they are more like a novel or movie. He also stated that the next main goal for the series is to make the series’ widespread appeal last.

Level-5 announced that there will be a live broadcast of Inazuma Eleven information on September 30. The stream will start at 9 PM JST and will be viewable on YouTube and NicoNico. The event will reveal new information about the upcoming game, Inazuma Eleven Ares, as well as discussions with series developers, an announcement about the Inazuma Eleven anime, and a broadcast of the anime’s first episode with commentary. The event will be hosted by Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino and employee Moochan. Inazuma Eleven Ares currently has no announced platforms, although this event could certainly change that.
