Real Men Use Items!, an 8-bit Smash Bros.-like game coming to “Nintendo systems”

Developer Ultra Dolphin Revolution has announced Real Men Use Items!, a fighting game obviously inspired by Super Smash Bros., but done in an 8-bit style. As the name implies, the focus of this game lies on the use of various items scattered around the stage to deal damage to your opponents. Multiplayer matches with up to 4 players will be supported.
Real Men Use Items! currently has no release date – or platform. The game is planned exclusively for “Nintendo systems”, though Ultra Dolphin Revolution doesn’t specify which systems. The Nintendo Switch seems like a safe bet, but given the game’s visuals, a 3DS version also seems possible. We will keep you updated once we have more information. In the meantime, here’s a gameplay trailer:

Nintendo shares the 30 most downloaded games on the Japanese eShop in 2018

Nintendo published a neat little statistic on their Japanese website today: the 30 most downloaded games on the Japanese eShop in 2018. Just like the download charts on the eShop itself, there are two lists: one for games that also have physical versions and one for games that are only available on the eShop. Unsurprisingly, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate takes the top spot in the first list. Human: Fall Flat being the most downloaded digital-only title is a bit more surprising, however. UK: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe sales even higher than previously thought, Tales of Vesperia sells best on Switch
Posted on 5 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Yesterday, we reported on the sales success of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe in the UK: the game sold 24.8% more copies than the original Wii U version did when it launched. However, it turns out that that wasn’t the full picture. Gamesindustry.biz reports that sales data from several major retailers was missing in yesterday’s report; the updated sales data from GfK shows that New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe actually sold 56% more copies than the Wii U version did when it launched.
Additonally, the sales data also reveals that Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition sold the best on Nintendo Switch. 49% percent of the game’s sales were on Nintendo’s platform, compared to 43% on Playstation 4 and 8% on Xbox One.
Fishing Star: World Tour will be released on the Japanese eShop on January 31, supports fishing rod Toy-Con

Early last year, we learned that Fishing Star, which is originally a mobile game, is getting an updated release on Nintendo Switch. Today, the latest issue of Famitsu revealed that the game will be called Fishing Star: World Tour. It’ll contain over 180 species of fish, over 40 different fishing locations and over 70 pieces of fishing gear and equipment. The most noteworthy piece of information about this game, however, is that it’ll support the fishing rod Toy-Con that’s part of the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit, something developer GREE hinted at last year.
Fishing Star: World Tour is set for a digital release on the Japanese eShop on January 31. No word yet on a Western release date.
