Fighting EX: Layer Another Dash netcode 2.2.0

Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash will soon be getting a 2.2.0 update on Switch with “the next generation of netcode”, Arika president Akira Nishitani announced during the Fighting Game Roundtable 3 earlier today. The patch is planned for an April 1, 2022 release. Despite going out on that day, Nishitani confirmed that it’s not an April Fools’ Joke.

Earlier this month, Akira released a video demonstrating the use of the new netcode system and how it will improve the experience. Check out the full comparison video below.

Nine Sols

Red Candle Games, the studio behind Detention, opened a new crowdfunding campaign this week for Nine Sols. The funding goal of roughly $105,900 has already been reached, and the project is tentatively planned for Switch.

As far as systems are concerned, Red Candle Games explained that it’s planning release on “both the Nintendo and Sony consoles.” But porting won’t begin until the game’s development is nearing its end, “and due to the fact that Nine Sols’ development is in between console generations, it is difficult to provide a definitive list of supported platforms at the moment.” However, the team already has a Switch devkit.

metroid dread uk sales update

There’s a bit of news to report regarding Metroid Dread’s sales performance in the UK. This is based on data provided by GfK.

The Switch title has already overtaken past entries in the series to become the best-selling 2D entry. Additionally, it’s the third biggest Metroid game overall – it’s only behind Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 3. Since digital sales aren’t included, it’s expected that Metroid Dread will soon be the top Metroid game in the UK as a whole if it isn’t already.

Nintendo’s upcoming maintenance schedule has been updated with a new session. During the middle of next week, there’ll be a little bit of downtime involving Switch.
