SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated will be out for Switch on June 23.

Before Rockstar San Diego became what it is today – with acclaimed games like Red Dead Redemption under its belt – the team was previously known as Angel Studios. At one point, an opportunity arose in which Nintendo was almost involved with one of their projects. Shigeru Miyamoto actually stopped by the studio to check out the game, which ended up being scrapped in the end.

Founder Diego Angel spoke about the experience in an interview with Polygon. The game in question was Buggy Boogie, a project for the N64. Not much is known about the project, but it was previously stated by former software director Clinton Keith that it involved “vehicles that would eat other vehicles and adopt their powers and morph.”

As for meeting with Miyamoto, Angel told Polygon:

This has been a pretty big week for Pokemon news. For those that missed it, evidence surfaced of plans for a scrapped version of Pokemon Pink to go alongside Pokemon Yellow. Game Freak may have also considered using cries from the Pokemon anime based on what was found within files of the original titles.

Early English names have also seemingly surfaced for a couple of Pokemon. Cubone and Clefairy were originally known as Orphon and Aria. 

In Cubone’s case, the initial name references the Pokemon’s sad backstory. Clefairy has ties to its signature attack Sing.

My Nintendo has updated in Europe with the latest set of rewards. Aside from a couple of 3DS themes, some new discounts are up for grabs.

In an update posted to Kickstarter today, Sabotage Studio revealed Sea of Stars as one of the game’s playable characters.

Garl is all about cooking, and even uses a cauldron lid as a makeshift shield. That theme also extends to exploration, as he “always keeps an eye out for unique ingredients to use at the campfire, always making a point to feed his companions while also boosting their morale using varying perfumes and textures.”

Raw Fury has unveiled Kingdom Two Crowns: Dead Lands, a free update for the micro-strategy game currently available on Switch. The new content here is inspired by and in collaboration with the gothic horror action-RPG Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Here’s what we know about the update:

Today, Dolores Entertainment and Redro Games announced that Mushroom Heroes is coming to Switch. The game, which is a puzzle-platformer, is lined up for an April 30 release.
