Pokemon Sword/Shield – new Max Raid Battle event live, debut of Gigantamax Pikachu

The latest Max Raid Battle event is up and running in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. It’s highlighted by the appearance of Gigantamax Pikachu – including Shiny Gigantamax Pikachu – which is appearing for the first time.
In the past, players needed to have save data from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu in order to obtain this Gigantamax form. We assume there will be a similar event for Eevee in the future. Just like Pikachu, you currently need save data from Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee to obtain its Gigantamax form.
Gigantamax Pikachu should be pretty easy to find in Pokemon Sword/Shield. We’re hearing that it’s popping up in all of the dens in the Wild Area.

Retro Studios continues to staff up as the company develops Metroid Prime 4. It has added a number of VFX artists to its arsenal, including Adad Morales, who previously contributed to Battlefield Hardline and the cancelled Star Wars Ragtag project at EA’s now-shuttered Visceral studio. Morales is on board as Retro’s new VFX lead.
Another new hire is Bryan Erck, who worked on Shadow of the Tomb Raider as that game’s lead VFX artist. And after spending twelve years at Gearbox, Nicholas Wilson is now a senior VFX artist at Retro.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, most companies have their employees working from home. That includes Illumination, the studio behind the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated movie.
Despite the change in work environment, Illumination is apparently very well equipped for the situation. All aspects of development, production, and marketing are being done remotely. Illumination has actually always been involved with remote work due to the daily collaboration of producers, artists, designs, editors, and more between their Paris and Santa Monica staff. A source told Deadline that the past two months have been “an extremely productive, innovative and creative time at the company.”
The Super Mario Bros. movie will arrive sometime in 2022. Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination founder Chris Meledandri are co-producing.

Kotaro Uchikoshi’s newest game, AI: The Somnium Files, landed on Switch last year. Prior to that title, he worked on the trilogy of Zero Escape titles. Those releases are spread out across the DS and 3DS.
Could the three Zero Escape games find their way to Switch? Uchikoshi at least has interest. In an interview with Gamereactor, Uchikoshi said he hopes it happens.
Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors debuted on DS a decade ago. We then saw Virtue’s Last Reward on 3DS in 2012 followed by Zero Time Dilemma in 2016.
