As Nintendo heads into the busy sales season that are the holidays, Kotaku caught up with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. Reggie spoke about why people should be interested in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the goal of of selling 20 million Switch systems this year, and reflected on Switch in 2018.

One interesting commented popped up when Reggie mentioned that he would liked to have seen Smash Bros. launch earlier in the year. Why? Because an early December launch is “challenging” business-wise and retailer-wise.

Chicken Wiggle Workshop never had a firm release date, but Atooi was aiming for December. However, the project is now moving officially to early 2019 as the developer attempts to “ensure the game is the best it can be for Nintendo Switch, and that goal is becoming a truly exciting reality as we move forward with each step in development.”

Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics, an upcoming game for Switch, has received a new trailer. We’ve attached the latest video below.

Three new Switch holiday commercials are in, though this time straight from Nintendo of Canada. View the brief adverts below.

Just Shapes & Beats

Berzerk Studio has announced a new update for Just Shapes & Beats. Launching this week, version 1.1 will feature five new tracks, new language support, bug-fixes, and engine tweaks.

The nominees are in for The Game Awards 2018. Nintendo may not have two titles up for the big prize like last year, but there are still a number of related titles included across the various categories.

99Vidas: Definitive Edition

QUByte Interactive announced today that 99Vidas: Definitive Edition is coming to Switch on November 27. A free demo is out now on the eShop.

99Vidas: Definitive Edition is a brawler, and for the Switch release, new content has been added. This includes new enemies, new stages, and new modes.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, Monster Sanctuary has been secured for Switch. Moi Rai Games was looking to raise €20,000, which was quickly reached. A Switch stretch goal of €60,000 has been obtained as well.

To put it simply, Monster Sanctuary is “taming meets metroidvania.” Players can add any monster they encounter to their party, participate in turn-based combat, and explore the world.
