Have you ever wondered what the Smash Bros. logo represents? During the latest episode of the Yoiko x Super Smash Bros. Ultimate video series, director Masahiro Sakurai commented on that very subject.

According to Sakurai, the intersecting lines are meant to show the “crossover” nature of the series. The circle divided into four sections represents 4-person multiplayer.

Since the announcement of Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, fans have requested ports of the original No More Heroes games on Switch. Creator Suda51 has expressed interest in the idea in the past, and again has indicated that he’d like to make it happen.

When asked by ntower about porting games like No More Heroes or Killer7 to Switch, Suda51 said:

When Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was initially announced, some wondered how closely the game was tied to last-gen’s Wii U iteration. But now that the game has finally launched, it’s clear just how different this new entry is. Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at Ultimate from a technical perspective that shows a substantial upgrade.

The first aspect to consider is lighting, which has been improved in Ultimate. Some parts were left untouched, but textures for building sides were redone. Bridge of Eldin is one stage that shows just how much has been added and changed. Clothing has been revamped as well. One apparent downgrade is Donkey Kong, who has lost his fur shell from the Wii U version. Also, shadow resolution has been reduced.

Square Enix Collective has announced a new game for its Switch lineup. The vibrant platformer Octahedron: Transfixed Edition is launching on the eShop next month.

Octahedron: Transfixed Edition is due out on January 17 and will have a pre-purchase discount of 25%. Also, a demo will be made available on December 28.

The first-person puzzler MIND: Path to Thalamus ended up on the Switch eShop yesterday. Have a look at some footage below.

The soundtrack for Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country is now available digitally. iTunes has it here. 11 tracks are included with the release.

Earlier this year, the comic service InkyPen was announced for Switch. The app will just be making it out before the end of 2018 as it’s been confirmed for launch on December 17.
