Gregg Mayles left a big mark on the Donkey Kong Country series. He served as a designer on the series, and created the likes of Diddy Kong and King K. Rool.

With King K. Rool having been announced for Smash Bros. Ultimate a few days ago, Mayles is taking a trip down memory lane. It turns out that Donkey Kong Country was going to be called Monkey Mayhem, and King K. Rool’s initial name was Kommander.

Nintendo asked Switch owners last year to decide on whether hot dogs are sandwiches. Ultimately, the consensus was that they are in fact sandwiches having taken home 54% of the vote. One year later, the tides have turned.

Nintendo again asked Switch owners to vote on whether hot dogs are sandwiches a few weeks ago. This was done through the system’s news channel feature. This time around, the results were shared.


During the Wii era, High Voltage was a prominent name that often came up when talking about core titles on the console. The studio developed The Conduit series, and had at one point planned another gritty shooter in the form of The Grinder.

Taking notice of High Voltage’s work and commitment to its platforms, Nintendo reached out to the team in hopes of working together on a new shooter for Wii U. Did You Know Gaming? and Liam Robertson have today revealed details about the project, which was ultimately cancelled following a leak.

Doom Eternal is a direct sequel to Bethesda and id Software’s Doom from 2016, which came out on Switch last year. Some might be surprised that the title isn’t being called Doom 2. However, there is reasoning behind that.

Executive producer Marty Stratton told IGN that the team considered the name Doom 2, but offered the following explanation as to why Doom Eternal was ultimately chosen:

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout – 10th Anniversary Edition is making its way to Switch, the latest issue of Computer Bild reveals. A release is planned for Q1 2019.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is an adventure game that first debuted in 2008. We have more details and a trailer below.

Speaking with Eurogamer, id Software’s Marty Stratton has shared more information about the plans for Doom Eternal on Switch. Stratton indicated that the Switch version will launch alongside other platforms, officially confirmed that Panic Button is working on the port, and the team is targeting 30 frames per second.
