Japanese publisher Cosen doesn’t have any plans for April Fools’ Day, but the Japanese games publisher is having some fun with fans. What we ultimately have is what looks to be a tease for Fight of Gods on Switch.

Earlier today, Cosen tweeted out the following image:

Fire Emblem Heroes recently added in some new maps featuring Robin: Fell Vessel and Olivia: Blushing Beauty. We have some footage of both below.

As we’ve seen over the past few years, game developers have gotten into the April Fools’ Day spirit with fake announcements. Some companies have already started sharing their news ahead of April 1 – which is tomorrow of course.

We don’t have any plans for any April Fools’ Day jokes, though we will once again be rounding up all of the Nintendo-related “announcements”. We’ll keep this post updated over the next day or so.

During a 24-hour live stream today, Arc System Works announced a new project. Wizard’s Symphony is coming to Switch as well as the PlayStation 4 – assuming this isn’t an elaborate April Fools’ Day joke.

Wizard’s Symphony is a dungeon RPG. It’s set in the same world as Wizard’s Harmony, a series that started in 1995 on the SEGA Saturn and PlayStation and featured adventure / simulation elements. More information about Wizard’s Symphony will be included in the April 12 issue of Dengeki PlayStation.

The teaser site for Wizard’s Symphony can be accessed here.

Red Barrels brought Outlast 2 to Switch this week. In a new video, Digital Foundry takes a closer look at the port and compares it to the PlayStation 4 version.

Regarding resolution, Outlast 2 runs at 1008p (yes, not 1080p) when docked. For portable play, it’s the standard 720p. Frame rate comes in at 30 FPS in both modes.

Nintendo released a new video today showcasing a few European digital game highlights from March 2018. You can watch it below.

April Fools’ Day can be a tricky thing. Sometimes you aren’t quite sure what is and what isn’t true, but a new announcement made by Nintendo today is apparently being considered the real deal. We’ll let you know if we hear otherwise.

For Splatoon 2, a collaboration with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has been announced. As one part of this, a new Splatfest will be held on April 21. Players will be asked: “Which makes you feel the most wonder? Unknown/undiscovered creatures vs. advanced technology”.

A soundtrack for Super Mario Odyssey was recently offered in Japan. Aside from including several discs and stickers, it also contained a special booklet with concept art focused on Pauline – see below. We’re also able to get insight into Nintendo’s thinking for the character.

Mayor Pauline usually wears a pants suit. But when she is singing Jump Up, Super Star!, she wears a gorgeous dress which excites the usually cool New Donkers. Pauline is a character with history, so while keeping her original traits intact, Nintendo made a new design for her which fits the world setting of Super Mario Odyssey. The team solidified her image by drawing rough sketches of her various costumes, although they don’t appear in the game.

Okami HD

Okami HD will release on Switch this summer. On Nintendo’s console, Capcom is implementing a couple of unique control schemes.

When playing in portable mode, the touchscreen can be used to draw brushstrokes. You can also use the Joy-Con controller’s motion controls in TV or Tabletop mode by moving it in the desired pattern, just like a paintbrush.

We have a brief video showing the touchscreen functionality below.
