Valve’s Gabe Newell says the company is jealous of Nintendo’s ability to create hardware and software together

In recent years, Valve has been focused on its huge distribution platform Steam and hardware. But now the company is shifting gears, and intends to get back into the game with software.
Valve boss Gabe Newell actually brought up something rather interesting when speaking about this at a recent event. Newell mentioned how the company has been jealous of the likes of Nintendo since they can create hardware and software in tandem.

Kona out now on Switch, launch trailer

Detective Pikachu pre-load live, file size

As was announced during today’s Nintendo Direct, Detective Pikachu can be pre-loaded from the eShop. To do so, you’ll need 14,082 blocks of space. That amounts to 1.72GB.
Detective Pikachu launches on March 23.

Miitomo – new Miitomo Drop stage and items (3/8/18)

Miitomo has been updated with more content. Users will find a new stage, along with some brand new items.
“Flying off the screen! Miitomo Heroes #1” is the new stage. It includes the following:
– Comic book pop art tee
– Bomber jacket + Miitomo Comics logo
– Ninja hero mask
– Ninja hero suit
And as far as the new items go, you can nab the following:
– Wide-brim straw boater
– Peacoat + tulle skirt
– Sheer dotted socks

No sound selection CD for Octopath Traveler’s Compendium Edition in Europe

There were a few announcements for Octopath Traveler today, including a special edition. This will vary a bit between North America and Europe.
In the stateside release, a soundtrack CD will be included. However, this isn’t the case in Europe. The Compendium Edition won’t have the CD, though it will feature the same pop-up book, map, and replica coin.

Nintendo has determined a release date for the new Splatoon 2 amiibo. Pearl and Marina will be available starting on July 13.

New Switch trade-in deals at GameStop

As of today, GameStop is running a pair of new trade-in deals for Switch.
First up, GameStop will provide consumers with 50% more credit for used games when traded toward a new Switch system or games. This lasts through March 14.

Nykra dev now intends to bring the game to Switch thanks to GameMaker Studio 2 support, prioritized over other versions

One of the big announcements from today’s Nintendo Direct was Undertale for Switch. Soon after, it was revealed that the GameMaker Studio 2 engine will be supported on the console.
This is obviously good news for many developers, including Endesga. Since Switch now supports GameMaker Studio 2, we can look forward to Nykra on the platform.
