Best Buy will be restocking two popular items next week. First up is the NES Classic Edition, which will be sold on Monday. Switch follows on Friday – just in time for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The restocks should be in stores at the very least, but perhaps online as well.

This might be one of your last chances to purchase your own NES Classic Edition. Nintendo is discontinuing the hardware, and final shipments are being sent out this month.

Bravely Second: End Layer is celebrating its second anniversary today. On the series’ official Japanese Twitter page, Square Enix confirms that worldwide sales have surpassed 700,000 units. Fans were also thanked for their support of the series.

Bravely Second was the second entry in the overall “Bravely” franchise. No new core games have been announced, but it almost looks like Square Enix is taking some inspiration from it with the upcoming Switch RPG Project Octopath Traveler.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s credits for beating all twelve cups are pretty similar to what was included on Wii U. However, there are some extra scenes, and some name additions – such as Tatsumi Kimishima at the end. Watch the full credits below.

There aren’t too many Switch games at the moment that use the device’s touchscreen. But with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the touchscreen functionality has been retained from the original Wii U release.

It’s nothing too crazy, but you can fully navigate Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s with a tap of the finger. You can select different modes, characters, vehicle parts, options and more. We took a brief video showing the touchscreen usage in action below.

More footage has arrived showing off TumbleSeed, which launches for Switch on May 2. View another hour of gameplay below.

YouTuber nesis has come up with a bizarre, yet interesting way of messing around with a Guardian in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Believe it or not, it’s possible to ride a Guardian through the sky.

The steps themselves are pretty simple. Actually following through on the process may be a bit tricky, however. You’ll need to get a Guardian on to a raft, and then mess around with it a bit to make it move and fly up into the sky.

Shovel Knight: Official Design Works is an upcoming book from Yacht Club Games and Udon Entertainment. It’ll feature key art, character concepts, enemy designs, sprite sheets, unused ideas, and a tribute art gallery along with creator commentary and an exclusive interview.

For those interested in the cover, we now have that above via an Amazon listing. Speaking of which, the retailer is currently taking pre-orders which are at a $7 discount. Reservations are also now live on Amazon Canada and Amazon UK.

Playtonic’s first project is the 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee, which began to launch this month (the Switch version is coming a bit later on). The team could have ended up going in a different direction though.

When asked about the possibility of creating something along the lines of Yooka-Laylee Racing during an EGX Rezzed session earlier this month, Playtonic’s Gavin Price acknowledged that fan interest is there. He also revealed that, when starting out with Playtonic, he thought a project in that genre “might actually be the first game we do.” Gavin ended with: “Let’s wait and see.”

Many staffers at Playtonic formally worked at Rare. Back in the day, Rare worked on the much-beloved Diddy Kong Racing for the N64.
