The first scans of Etrian Odyssey V have emerged from Famitsu. We should have better images tomorrow, but this does provide us with a look at the game. View them below, along with more details.

etrian-odyssey-v-1

– Fencer ? Skillfully wield pointed swords
– Dragoon ? Boast of defense as tough as a dragon
– Cestus ? Clear through battles with their tempered fists
– Reaper ? Fell enemies with sickles that bring death
– Necromancer ? Summoners that command the spirits of the dead
– Warlock ? Sages skilled in elemental attacks
– Herbalist ? Masters of healing with herbs
– Shaman ? Use mysterious powers to save their allies
– Masurao ? Warriors that weld four swords
– Hound ? Hunters that command falcons and dogs
– New FOEs – Hyppogriph, Hyppogriph, Momonga, Oumu, some sort of millipede
– New character creation system
– Character creation is race-based
– Choose eye, skin and hair color regardless of your portrait design
– Class and race-specific skills
– Similar to how Common skills were handled in Etrian Odyssey III, skills that are universal for your character’s race are accessed via a separate tab in the Custom menu
– Customize the icon sets that appear on your map menu
– Party members can use team up to use Union Skills
– At least four portrait options per class
– There’s a mute option that spans two buttons
– There isn’t a single race skill; it’s an entire set of racial passives, some tiered, and most of which are single-level skills
– Fencer skill set also seems based around elemental chain and prediction/vision skills
– Summoning also doesn’t seem to use the sixth party slot, as one screen shows two aids in their own separate sections
– Both have HP bars, though no TP
– Aslan skill set includes fishing, analyze, double attack, magic heal, something about full power, and something about earth (ground)

Here’s a quick reminder to all of the 3DS Pokemon players out there. The new distribution for Celebi is now live in Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, and Y. You can download the Pokemon via the Nintendo Network.

Obtaining Celebi is actually quite easy. Access the “Mystery Gift” option after booting up your game, and receive it through the Internet. You’ll then just need to talk to the delivery girl in any Pokemon Center and save.

Celebi will come in at level 100. It should be available through March 24.

Thanks to Dry Bone Koopa for the tip.

Four NASCAR drivers recently gave Mario Kart 64 a go. Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Aric Almirola and Kurt Busch raced in Luigi Raceway to see who’d come out on top. Watch the full video below.

Some of you may recall a little game called “The Hand of Panda”. We first heard about the project in 2013 through a Kickstarter campaign. It ended up reaching its $3,000 goal, and work has continued since then.

A release date for The Hand of Panda has finally been announced. In a Kickstarter update, the game’s developers confirmed launch for March 3 – this Thursday.

Here’s the original Kickstarter pitch video:

And the game’s description from Kickstarter:

“The Hand of Panda is a culmination of several gameplay types combined to create an updated bonus round feel and experience. While mostly basing this game off our favorite bonus round, “Test your might” from the classic Mortal Kombat game, we decided it was time to update this and create something new and more enjoyable for today’s audience.

Wrapped in an Asian theme, this game challenges you acquire the skills and power necessary destroy over 50 real and exceptionally unreal known materials: Earn the right to challenge each floor of the various pagodas to break a variety of Wood, Metal, Stone, Rare, Backer Created, and Legendary Items. The journey will test your skills of speed, strategy and memorization, while facing the various obstacles in your way and become the Greatest Master the land has ever seen.”

The Hand of Panda was under consideration for Wii U at one point. Whether that’s still the case remains to be seen. If The Hand of Panda does well on 3DS, it might be possible.

Yet another notable change has been discovered within Bravely Second’s European version. With sidequests, whereas the Japanese release has players picking a side and seeing the consequences of their decision being played out, European copies result in a “good” ending regardless. There’s a little more on this in a forum thread here – just beware of some spoilers.

As far as other western changes go, it was reported earlier today that some character models have been modified. We’ve also known about a class change for quite some time as well.
