Giving this a bump to the top. All emails that have been sent in have been responded to!
Kira is lessening her role on the site slightly to pursue some new opportunities and free up time. Because of that, we have a spot open for a news writer!
We’re looking for someone who can cover Nintendo Everything two days each week (between Monday and Friday) at the following times:
1:30 AM PT – 4:30 AM PT
4:30 AM ET – 7:30 AM ET
9:30 AM GMT+1 – 12:30 AM GMT+1
6:30 PM GMT+10 – 9:30 PM GMT+10
When joining the team, you’d initially pick the days that you’d be responsible for, though you’d need to stick with them. If you select Mondays and Wednesdays, we’d count on you being available during those days each week.
Please note that this is a non-paying position. I’d love to compensate our writers, and I feel awful that I can’t… but I just don’t have the means to do so. At all.
… anyway, I’ll also mention that you would only be responsible for news coverage, but your role could expand into areas such as reviews and features – depending on your interest of course!
I’m probably forgetting something, but I think that’s it! If you’re interested, send an email here and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

With psyscrolr having launched on the North American Wii U eShop this past Thursday, we’re kicking off a new giveaway. Five codes are up for grabs. That was quick! Amazon has already opened pre-orders for LEGO Dimensions, the new toys-to-life game from Warner Bros. You can place an order for the Starter Pack here.
Gamers will receive several items from the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack. It includes a copy of the game, the LEGO Toy Pad, three LEGO Minifigures, and the LEGO Batmobile. Pricing is set at $99.99.

Nintendo customer service rep blames retailers for amiibo shortages, explains how the supply chain works

One fan recently wrote in to Nintendo’s customer service team about the amiibo shortage situation. In response to this person’s email, the following response was delivered:
Thank you for writing. I apologize for the delay in our reply. I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment with the availability and distribution of amiibo, and would like you to know that we have documented and shared your concerns with the relevant departments here at Nintendo.
Additionally, I’d like to convey that we are aware of the popularity of amiibo and continually aim to always have a regular supply of amiibo in the marketplace. As stated previously, certain sold-out amiibo may return to your local retailer at a later stage. We apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing now, and thank you in advance for your continued patience in this matter.
The same fan wrote back to Nintendo, and made some accusations about the company manipulating amiibo demand via the supply chain. That led the representative to explain how the supply chain actually works:

Rodea: The Sky Soldier sales off to a very rough start in Japan

Rodea: The Sky Soldier isn’t doing so well in Japan. Actually, that’s probably a gross understatement.
With Rodea: The Sky Soldier not appearing on the Media Create charts, it was a sign that the game had sold poorly. Dengeki, which is also involved with sales tracking, provides a disappointing figure for Rodea’s debut in Japan.
Dengeki says that Rodea: The Sky Solider on Wii U sold 2,725 units in its first week. The 3DS version did not chart at all, so that version sold even fewer copies. Very disappointing!
