Bear Box Media has announced an upcoming Wii U eShop title called “U Host”. The game could arrive as early as October, or sooner if creator Andy Ford “can push things forward”.

Here’s a summary of first details:

– Take on the role of a game show quiz host
– Can do “Pretty much anything you can think of involved with quizzes”
– Includes but not limited to having multiple question categories, bonus rounds, penalties, mini games, etc.
– Mini-games have already been designed
– Mini-games involve contestants vs. the host
– Host can set up the game before play begins or simultaneously play alongside the contestants trying to impede their progress
– Others will be all against all, even allowing Hosts to get their own scores
– Question categories cover history, technology, and more
– Users will be able to make their own questions as well
– Players can add their own rules and penalties
– Custom questions support up to 4 different answers (only 1 is correct)
– Hold quizzes and game shows that can be up to 5 rounds of which the host will also be able to name
– Recreate games similar to wheel of fortune, who wants to be a millionaire, and board game style quizzes
– “all of the questions have been (painstakingly) written out, and the menus are almost completed”
– Price and launch windows for other regions are TBA
– The host can set up a quiz prior and save it to the console
– The host can read questions off the GamePad, or display them on the TV
– Players can alert the host that they have an answer by buzzing in with a Wiimote, Pro Controller, or even their own voice
– Can be played entirely on the GamePad
– Free app will let players to use their mobile devices as U Host buzzers
– Will include a single-player mode

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime intends to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and he will apparently kick things up a notch.

Fils-Aime was called out by Xbox boss Phil Spencer yesterday to participate along with Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida and Valve’s Gabe Newell. Yoshida ended up donating instead, though a few folks from Sony did post a video of their involvement with he ALS Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday.

As for Reggie, he teased that he intends to “‘one up’ the challenge”.

According to a listing on the eShop, Thorium Wars: Attack of the Skyfighter will be available in North America next week. The game’s pricing is set at $7.99. You can find a few screenshots from Thorium Wars above.

Amazon Japan recently outed Touch Detective Funghi Rhythm for 3DS. Now we have a couple of details about the game.

As the name implies, Touch Detective Funghi Rhythm isn’t a traditional entry in the series. It’s a rhythm game with over 20 songs including “Funghi’s Song” from Haruka Fukuhara. You’ll be able to earn costumes for Funghi as you progress.

Crystalline Green Ltd. has announced a new Wii U eShop title “Project Colour Park” (tentative title).

Here’s an overview of the first game details

– Fly on a set course and come into contact with brightly coloured cuboids at various intervals
– Every block has its own color
– You can access a spectrum around your character where you can highlight any color within said spectrum by rotating your Wii remote
– The color you select depends on which way and how far your tilt your controller
– Your score depends on how accurately you select the color you pass through on the spectrum
– Rhythm and race modes
– Rhythm: collide with blocks in time with the music and will be rewarded with points based on your accuracy
– Race: like Rhythm, but blocks will issue you with power-ups and speed boosts
– Both modes will support four player simultaneous gameplay
– Game is early in development
– Coming to both North America and Europe
