Circle Entertainment publishing Tappingo, should release in February or March

Circle Entertainment will publish Tappingo, the company has confirmed. Given Circle’s close relationship with Goodbye Galaxy Games, this shouldn’t come as as major surprise.
We’re also told that Tappingo is currently on track for a release in February or March. At the moment, a late February launch is possible.
In other Circle Entertainment updates, we should have news on a new title coming from the publisher next week.

Kirby Triple Deluxe sells through over 90% of initial shipment in Japan

Kirby Triple Deluxe is off to a fast start in Japan with first week sales reaching over 214,000 copies. Media Create says that the new 3DS game sold-through 92.02 percent of its initial shipment – an incredibly high rate.
The last Kirby game, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, only shifted 137,000 copies in its first week. It also sold through just 49.88 percent of its first shipment.
Media Create mentions that Kirby Triple Deluxe had only 58,000 pre-orders before January 5. By January 12, however, reservations rose to 103,000, showing great growth.
There was a strong focus to advertise heavily on television so there would be a wider opportunity for people to see Kirby Triple Deluxe. Since consumers have been staying inside during the cold winter, viewership and anticipation must have been much higher.

Iwata says the way people use their time, lifestyles, who they are have changed; Nintendo must not stay in one place

A few more comments from Satoru Iwata’s news conference held in Japan earlier today have come in.
As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the Nintendo president said:
“The way people use their time, their lifestyles, who they are have changed. If we stay in one place, we will become outdated.”
Iwata also acknowledged that Nintendo misread the markets and hadn’t issued “the appropriate instructions.” He understands that the company must change and “propose something that surprises our customers.”

December 2013 NPD: Disney Infinity sells 551,000 units, total starter pack sales up to 3 million

Disney Infinity continues to sell quite well. In the US last month, the game sold another 550,000 units.
A total of 3 million starter packs have now been sold.
Jimmy Pitaro, president of Disney Interactive, told The New York Times, “We believe we’ve set the stage for Infinity to be an enduring video game platform.”
David Jaffe weighs in on Nintendo’s latest financial news, says Iwata should stick around

David Jaffe has been known for having some strong opinions of Nintendo, such as when he suggested that the company should be sold to Disney. Earlier today, Jaffe published a copious amount of tweets surrounding Nintendo’s latest financial news and commented on those calling for Satoru Iwata’s resignation.
