3DS eShop

The Delusions of Von Sottendorff and his Square Mind is coming to the 3DS eShop this winter, Delirium Studios announced today.

The new game offers a mix of platforming and environmental puzzles. It stars Baron Von Sottendorff, a well-to-do aristocrat, who believes he’s living the good life in early 20th century Europe. However, he’s been trapped inside a reproduction of his mansion created by his own lunatic mind, and players will need to help him escape the madness. By completing levels, you’ll gain objects that unlock memories from his life.

More details about The Delusions of Von Sottendorff and his Square Mind as well as a “making of” teaser below.

Unique Game Mechanics – Von Sottendorff is a non-traditional take on the classic platform-puzzle genre as the good Baron explores the constructs of his madness. Rather than just control one character, players can also manipulate the 200 rooms in the game by using the touch screen to solve puzzles.

Immersive Gameplay – Von Sottendorf’s mind is filled with 8 different worlds, 40 challenging levels and 18 different types of enemies.

Moving Story Line – Recover all of the Baron’s lost memories and discover the reason behind his descent into madness.

More:

Steam is the top-performing platform when it comes to Shovel Knight’s audience. However, Nintendo’s platforms are right behind.

During the Gaming Insiders event in San Francisco last week, Nathan Vella shared the breakdown of Shovel Knight’s audience. The game has seen 32 percent of its players on Steam, 30 percent on 3DS, 20 percent on Wii U, 14 percent on Sony platforms, and 4 percent on Xbox.

Vella noted that “Shovel Knight broke the impression that indies don’t sell so well on Nintendo”.

A few hours ago, Comcept uploaded a new Mighty No. 9 video. This one has lead composer Manami Matsumae trying out the Challenge Mode. We have it below.

Another Monday means another update to Pokemon Shuffle. Several events, including the Mega Charizard one, came to an end today. If you placed high enough, you can claim your Charizardite Y today if you check in.

Keldeo makes a return to the game, having previously been available a couple of months ago. You’ve got one week to catch it.

Finally, Latias is available for the first time via an escalation battle. As per usual, the stage’s level goes up by one each time you beat it, as does Latias’ capture chance. Of interest, however, is that Latias’ Mega Stone, Latiasite, is also available in this stage. You have to beat this escalation battle at level 50 to get it.

SmileBASIC is gearing up for its overseas release. In a website post earlier this month, SmileBoom noted that the company has “already proceeded to the final stage for delivering SmileBASIC via Nintendo eShop.” The company is now working with Nintendo to get the title out as soon as possible.

SmileBASIC doesn’t have a release date yet, but keep a watch out for news in the near future. We’ll know when it’s ready once SmileBoom has received final approval.

Here’s the full notice:

We really apology that we have posted no updates since the last posting in May.

We are almost there! All necessary development work was completed a few weeks ago and we’ve already proceeded to the final stage for delivering SmileBASIC via Nintendo eShop. For now Nintendo and SmileBoom is working hard to make it available to all awaiting fans outside Japan as soon as possible.

Once we obtain the final approval, the delivery date will be determined and can be announced officially.

We really appreciate all of your patience. It is really coming!

Thanks to // for the tip.
