TGS 2021 Online

When this year’s Tokyo Game Show was detailed a few months ago, there were originally plans to hold the event in-person. But since the current pandemic is still raging on, things have changed. Japan’s Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has now detailed a change for the show, making it largely online.

The only in-person portion of this year’s TGS is for press members and influences, who will be able to try out demos and interview developers. Everything else will primarily be held online. Gamers can expect streams from 10:00 to 24:00 JST. There will be live English interpretations to all streams on the main channel.

Tokyo Game Show 2021 Online will take place between September 30 and October 3.

Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge

Universal Creative global executive producer Tom Geraghty has offered new insight into the creation of Super Nintendo World.

What fans may not know is that the entirety of the theme park was actually built in VR. This was primarily done for the design team, since they “could look around at a place and get sightlines and figure out where to move elements.”

Also revealed is that Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge is made with an actual game engine. Geraghty suggested that it could be easily updated in the future with new characters, themes, and more.

Players can easily obtain 100% completion on a third save file by plugging in a second controller and following a series of inputs. You’ll need to hold L and press C up, C up, R, C right, C left, then start.

Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime joined GameStop’s board of directors last year. It appears that he won’t be holding on to that role for very long, however.

According to GameStop’s latest SEC filing, Reggie as well as several others are expected to retire from the board at the retailer’s 2021 Annual Meeting. “The contemplated retirements are not because of a disagreement with us on any matter relating to our operations, policies or practices,” the notice states. The upcoming meeting will take place in June.

Reggie had been fully dedicated to Nintendo from the end of 2003 through the middle of 2019. Despite retiring from the company, he has still been active in many other ways. Aside from his stint with GameStop, Reggie joined the board of directors for the New York Videogame Critics Circle, become a strategic advisor at Rogue Games, and more.
