The arcade game Taiko no Tatsujin: Yellow Version was updated with a Splatoon song last month. Next week, it will be receiving even more Nintendo content.

If a new report from Eurogamer is to be believed, Nintendo will be following up on the NES Classic Edition / NES Mini with a new product. This year, the site claims that the SNES Mini will be launching.

Eurogamer’s article doesn’t have much in the way of details. However, the site says the hardware is “a major reason why last year’s NES mini did not see a reprieve from discontinuation”.

If Eurogamer is to be believed, the SNES Mini will be ready by Christmas.

Amazon Canada is taking pre-orders for many of the amiibo featured in last week’s Nintendo Direct. Skyward Sword Link, along with various Smash Bros., Splatoon 2, and Pikmin figures are live. Get them here.

Switch owners will find that a new update, version 2.2.0, is available for them to download. It appears to be a minor update, promising the usual stability and minor changes.

Nintendo’s lone patch note is the typical one: “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience”.

That’s it regarding the official news. There could be very small tweaks that Nintendo isn’t mentioning, but we won’t know for sure until users start poking around with Switch after applying the update.

Edmund McMillen, creator of The Binding of Isaac, is asking fans if they’d buy an Isaac amiibo. McMillen put out a poll on Twitter to gauge interest (see it here, has a bit of strong language).

Indies have rarely taken the opportunity to create their own amiibo. Yacht Club Games is the only studio to have taken on the challenge, having created a Shovel Knight figure last year.

Is an Isaac amiibo something you want to see happen? Would you buy one?
