Japanese post offices will be selling Super Mario stamps at the end of June

It has recently been announced that new Super Mario stamps will be sold in Japanese post offices at the end of June – specifically June 28. A variety of pictures were made featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and even Toad.

WayForward teams up with Volks for Shantae CharaGumin figure

WayForward is moving forward with an official Shantae figure. Creator Matt Bozon shared the news on his personal Twitter page.
Shantae will be getting her very own CharaGumin figure in partnership with Volks. A price, release date, and more will be announced later down the road.

New Splatoon amiibo up for pre-order on Amazon Germany

Amazon Germany is now taking pre-orders for the new amiibo launching with Splatoon 2. The new Inkling Boy and Girl plus Squid are located here. In case you’re wondering, all three should ship to the United States.
Amazon UK cancelling Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia pre-orders

Some concerns are being raised regarding the overseas release of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia. Amazon UK is cancelling pre-orders that had been previously been placed. In an email to customers, the retailer states: “Our supplier has informed us that this item is no longer available.”
Over on Amazon US, the listing for Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia has been pulled. However, it’s still up on Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, and Amazon France.
The Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia is supposedly planned for June 15 outside of Japan. We should be finding out pretty soon if that date is still on track.

Deus Ex, Unreal composer working at Retro Studios

Accomplished video game composer Alexander Brandon has revealed that he’s working at Retro Studios. Brandon wouldn’t say what he’s involved with, but did mention that “the work is incredibly exciting and the team is awesome”.
Brandon has contributed to a variety of franchises and individual games. He previously worked on the Deus Ex and unreal series as well as Tyrian, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Thief: Dark Shadows, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Alpha Protocol, and Torment: Tides of Numenera.

Ben Heck manages to get the SNES PlayStation in working order

In the latest episode of The Ben Heck Show, hacking enthusiast Ben Heck managed to test the forgotten SNES PlayStation prototype that Sony created for Nintendo. This machine never saw commercialization due to the partnership of Nintendo with Philips in order to create CD games, and it was ultimately the precursor of the first Sony’s PlayStation.
However, since it was first discovered a few years back, this prototype has ended in Ben Heck’s hands and now we got a video that shows how he tests every component and finally achieves to make it load a CD-ROM based game.
You can see the full video below. It really is fascinating.

Ultra Street Fighter II wallpaper available on My Nintendo in North America

My Nintendo added a few new Street Fighter discounts in North America a few days ago. Additionally, the site updated with a wallpaper for Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers.
The wallpaper requires 50 Platinum Points. You can use it with a PC, smartphone or tablet in eight different resolutions. My Nintendo will distribute the wallpaper until August 2.
