PAL regions getting the Nintendo Account system in March
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 10 Comments
The Nintendo Account system saw its initial debut in Japan this week. As for the rest of the world, it looks like we’ll need to wait until next year.
Nintendo is saying that Nintendo Accounts won’t be ready for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand until March. That likely applies to North America as well. As for the Japanese rollout, Nintendo said in a statement:
“This preliminary launch represents a limited selection of the full functionality that Nintendo will eventually offer. This preliminary Nintendo Account launch is focused on bringing off-device purchase functionality to the Japanese market.”

There are lyrics for the Super Mario Bros. theme
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 7 Comments
Did you know that the Super Mario Bros. theme song has lyrics? That’s actually something that was made public many, many years ago, but it’s not widely talked about today.
The lyrics were originally submitted by fans to a Japanese radio station. Nintendo eventually made them official, and a recorded version of the song was released on vinyl. Listen to it below.
Since the lyrics are in Japanese, you might have some trouble understanding what they are in English. But luckily, a translation can be found after the break!

Japan: Nintendo Account is now live; official blog launched
Posted on 9 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in General Nintendo, News | 8 Comments
In Japan, Nintendo’s new all-encompassing account feature, Nintendo Account, is now live. You can sign up for it here.
As promised, you can register using your existing Nintendo Network ID or your various social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter. European, Australian or North American NNIDs won’t work though – looks like we have to wait until the service officially launches in the West. Note, however, that this is not My Nintendo, the successor to Club Nintendo. That is scheduled to launch next year.
Until February 1st, there’s also a promotion where you get back 100 yen for every 1000 yen you spend on the Nintendo eShop.
Finally, Nintendo also updated its official Japanese website. Other than its new visual design, you can now also buy games there and have them downloaded directly to your Wii U or 3DS. They also launched a new blog called Topics where announcements will be made.

Back in April, Level-5 revealed a new cross-media project known as “The Snack World”. Along with games, there are also plans to create a full CG TV anime, manga in CoroCoro, Takara Tomy toy line, and nationwide movie release.
Level-5 has now announced that The Snack World anime will debut alongside the theatrical release of Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the 5 Stories, Nyan! in Japan. This will be taking place on December 19.
Here’s an overview of the story:

And when these demands are denied, the village and its residents are destroyed. The main character, a boy named Chup, once lived in “small happiness,” but lost it all. But he gets over his sadness and embarks on a journey of revenge… But he’s madly in love with the king’s daughter, Princess Melora. Iwata tribute teased for The Game Awards, Nintendo will apparently have stuff to show
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 30 Comments
The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley just wrapped up a Q&A about the event on Periscope a short while ago. There wasn’t a whole lot of Nintendo-specific information shared, but Keighley did seem to tease something special.
Although he didn’t say it explicitly, Keighley strongly hinted that The Game Awards will honor late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in some way. He indicated that he didn’t want to talk too much about it so that the moment wouldn’t be ruined, and everyone can appreciate it together. It does sound like a tribute is planned.
Also, I didn’t catch this myself, but Keighley apparently said that Nintendo will have some new stuff to show at The Game Awards. More footage of Zelda Wii U would certainly be nice!
