Sonic Frontiers originally planned for 2021, was delayed for quality

As it turns out, SEGA internally delayed Sonic Frontiers in order to improve the game’s quality.
That nugget of information was revealed during an investor Q&A held last month. Speaking about the upcoming game, SEGA explained:

Point-and-click adventure game Unusual Findings coming to Switch

Publisher Buka Entertainment and developer Epic Llama Studios have announced that Unusual Findings, a point-and-click adventure game, is coming to Switch. A release date has not yet been confirmed.
Unusual Findings is inspired by the 90s, but has a retro 80s style. You can read more about what the game has to offer below.

This month’s issue of EDGE serves as a wrap-up for 2021 as it not only contains the magazine’s awards, but also the top 10 games.
We see Monster Hunter Rise getting some love here as it was selected as “Nintendo Game of the Year” – outdoing titles like Metroid Dread. Capcom’s title also places in EDGE’s top ten for 2021. The publication thought highly of Chicory: A Colorful Tale as well given how it was selected for the #2 spot.

Game Freak reflects on the making of Pokemon Sword and Shield

Nintendo reveals the most played Switch games of 2021 in Europe

With 2021 now drawing to a close, Nintendo has shared a list of the top 22 most played Switch games of 2021 in Europe.
Fortnite proves that it’s still a force to be reckoned with as it managed to top the chart. We actually see a lot of titles released in prior years showing up here such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is right behind at #2 and Minecraft at #3. In terms of 2021 games, we do see Pokemon Unite at #12, Monster Hunter Rise at #13, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury at #20.

Witch on the Holy Night announced for Switch

Type-Moon, the company behind the Tsukihime and Fate series, today announced that it’s bringing Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) to Switch. Japan will be getting the title in 2022.
Witch on the Holy Night is a visual novel that initially debuted for PC in 2012. This marks the first time it will be released for consoles.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina announces DLC character Aoko Aozaki

Aoko Aozaki is heading to Melty Blood: Type Lumina as a new DLC character, Project Lumina revealed today. She’ll be going live on January 13, 2022.
