The DS and Wii era marked Nintendo’s first foray into online gaming. For both of these systems, the company introduced a feature known as Friend Codes. This was a bit controversial as some felt that screen names would have been much more convenient and easier to use.

An internal presentation has appeared online, which gives insight into Nintendo’s thinking at the time. This is part of the big leak that we heard about this weekend.


Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 remains the top Nintendo title while Bravely Default II and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition move up a couple of spots.

Splatoon 2

A number of new deals are up and running on the North American Switch eShop. These include Deadly Premonition Origins, My Time at Portia, Splatoon 2, Skullgirls, and more.

Nintendo eShop

It’s been pretty quiet on the Nintendo maintenance front as of late, and that’ll be continuing into next week. At least for now, no immediate sessions are scheduled. Nintendo is only planning some downtime for the eShops later in the month.

Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 8 has returned in Fire Emblem Heroes. 5-star Heroes who showed up before the start of Book II appear as focus Heroes, and the focus lineup changes each week.

You’ll be able to partake in Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 8 until May 10.
