Nintendo Labo

Nintendo has updated the North American Nintendo Labo website with a lengthy FAQ. Four different categories are covered – “Basics”, “Make”, “Play”, and “Discover”.

The FAQ does hold some very interesting information. Nintendo goes over box and Toy-Con sizes, the durability of the cardboard, replacement parts, and a whole lot more.

March is almost over. Barring a miracle, that meant Shelter Generations would not be coming out this month as originally planned. Circle Entertainment has now confirmed that the game has been pushed back, but the delay thankfully won’t be long.

Shelter Generations is now lined up for sometime in April. When we have an exact release date, we’ll let you know.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Update: Bumped to the top. Nintendo finally has the patch notes in, so we’ve added them below.


Original: The next update for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is now available to download. If you have the game, version 1.3.1. is out now.

Today’s patch is highlighted by the addition of New Quests Pack 2. These quests can be taken on after completing the update:

Nintendo is going all out with ARMS this weekend. The ARMS Global Testpunch is running once again, and the ARMS US & Canada Online Open finals will be taking place as well.

Along with that excitement, ARMS is now on sale via the North American Switch eShop. Starting today, the game can be purchased for 30% off. That means $41.99 (or $39.99 if you’re a My Nintendo member) as opposed to $59.99.

You can save on ARMS until April 6 at 8:59 AM PT / 11:59 AM ET.

Lode Runner Legacy landed on the eShop in all regions yesterday. In the video below, you can check out some gameplay footage.

Creator David Wehle has announced that The First Tree is coming to consoles, including Switch. DO Games has been brought on board to work on the port.

The First Tree a third-person exploration game. You’ll play as a fox while two concurrent stories unfold – one about a fox trying to find her missing family, and another involving a son reconnecting with his father in Alaska.

We’ve included more information about The First Tree below. Wehle hopes to have the console versions ready for late 2018.

Update (3/30): Area 35 has now confirmed that the multiplayer mode will be playable to the public at PAX East. You can try out the new feature at the Unties booth at 10011. Some elements from the demo will only be shown to the press.


Original (3/26): Area 35 previously announced that Tiny Metal would be getting multiplayer functionality. Today, the studio confirmed that the feature will be added as a free update sometime in May.

Tiny Metal’s multiplayer mode will be shown off for the first time at PAX East. It won’t be available to the public, but press will be able to go hands-on – so we should have details soon.

Digital Extremes isn’t committing to a Switch version of Warframe. However, the studio isn’t ruling out the possibility either.

Express asked Digital Extremes CEO Sheldon Carter about the possibility of bringing the co-op action game to the system. Carter had plenty of praise for the device and the team is “looking at and examining possibilities”, though there are no concrete plans.

Detective Pikachu drinks his fair share of coffee in Detective Pikachu. But why is he such a big fan of the drink in the first place? Speaking with Famitsu, the developers weighed in.

One question Famitsu asked is why why Detective Pikachu has an old man voice. According to producer Hiroyuki Jinnai, that’s because Ikue Otani’s cute Pikachu voice work is very well-known.
