Update 2 (6/26): Bumped to the top. Added the full English patch notes below.

Update: “Arena” mode added allowing for spectators (thanks JayMart2k). LAN play is also in (hold the left stick, then press L+R on the main menu). Aside from that, there are bug fixes and a spelling mistake fix.

Original (6/25): ARMS’ first update is out now. Nintendo just made version 1.1.0 available to players a few moments ago.

We’re still waiting on Nintendo to produce the official patch notes for today’s update. There’s a good chance that Spectator Mode has been added in, but we can’t say for sure. We’ll update this post when we have more news about the patch.

Original Journey is in development for Switch, Another Indie and Bonfire Entertainment announced today.

The game is a sci-fi action-adventure with a pencil art visual style. It blends a mix of “shooting, platforming, tower-defense, racing, and puzzles into a cohesive experience with a strong narrative arc, all set on a mysterious and constantly changing world.”

Here are some additional details:

The Ato, a race of space faring vegetation, embark on a quest to save their home world. Only the legendary Origin Stone, an artifact of unlimited power and rumored to be on the ominous Planet Shadow, can deliver salvation to their people. By invading the procedurally generated Shadow World, the Ato can hope to survive, but how far will they go to save themselves?

Join the attacking Ato army and control The Rookie. Equip customizable mech armor with buffs that affect his speed, life recovery, fall damage and more. Arm the Rookie with turrets and over a dozen upgradeable weapons, each with a distinct playstyle best suited to certain situations, then explore Planet Shadow and battle its inhabitants.

Original Journey will be out on Switch in Q1 2018. View a trailer for the game below.

The next blog post by Nintendo counting down to the release of the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s DLC Pack 1 is out now. In it, Iwamoto, the Assistant Director of the game, talks about the Phantom Armor and its origins.

Hello. I’m Iwamoto, Assistant Director of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

With DLC Pack 1, The Master Trials, you can acquire the armor of a Phantom (this DLC is only available through the purchase of the Expansion Pass).

Depending on your experience with the series, some of you may be wondering, “What’s a Phantom?” Well, Phantoms are a type of knight appearing in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks games for the Nintendo DS™ system. In those games, the mysterious armor they wear does not take damage when attacked from the front.

Some more details about Monster Hunter XX Switch Version. See the details below as laid out by Gematsu.

Target Camera

There is an icon in the upper right of the screen for the Target Camera. By pressing the ZL button, you can turn the Target Camera on or off. If you press the L button once while the Target Camera is on, the camera will turn to face towards the monster. You can also control the camera using the right analog stick.

Hunter Arts

There are gauges next to the item selection window at the bottom right of the screen that give you a better understanding of which Hunter Arts you are able to trigger. In the demo, three Hunter Arts were prepared and could be changed in the options. Hunter Art #1 was assigned to the Up button, Hunter Art #2 to the Right button, and Hunter Art #3 to the Down button. Because of this, it was necessary to release your fingers from the left analog stick in order to activate a Hunter Art while moving. While 4Gamer.net did not get to try it, there are other control types with key assignments that use multiple button combinations, which may be a better option for users who want to activate Hunter Arts while moving.

Vibration

The Switch version supports controller vibration, but not HD Rumble. Vibration can be turned on or off in the options. The controller will vibrate at times such as when a monster roars, when a Hunter Art hits, and when Barufaruku lands his big move, giving various situations a higher sense of presence.
