HORI will be releasing a bunch of Switch accessories, and it seems that they will also make their own microSD cards for the new Nintendo system. These new cards will have the Switch logo on them to assure consumers of their compatibility.

Cards will come in two formats: 16 GB and 32 GB. Japan will have both on launch day (March 3).

FDG Entertainment teased two games for Switch last October. The first is Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. The second was thought to be Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas.

On Twitter, FDG Entertainment confirms that Oceanhorn is indeed its second Switch game. It should launch before the end of the year.

FDG’s tweet reads:


It was previously mentioned that FDG’s two Switch games were planned for the first half of 2017. Hopefully that’s still the case.

Famitsu has a next batch of details about FuRyu’s new RPG The Alliance Alive in this week’s issue. Three main battle features are explained.

During battles, characters may raise their morale based on the movements chosen by players. Once morale has reached a certain point, they will activate something called “Ignition”.

This month’s issue of Retro Gamer is starting to make the rounds. In it, an interview is published with Suda51, the developer of games such as No More Heroes and Killer7.

Some of the Nintendo-related excerpts have now been transcribed online, courtesy of Japanese Nintendo. Suda51 spoke about Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special, making Killer7 as intended for a global audience, and developing for Wii.

During the week of January 16, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly sold nearly 40,000 copies in Japan. Though that may seem a bit slow, the title sold through 80 percent of its initial shipment, according to Dengeki. Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly is off to a smooth start in Japan thus far, and may continue to sell at a steady rate going forward.

A few new reservations have opened up on Amazon Canada and the UK. Since there are several listings, we decided to share these now ahead of our normal pre-order update post tomorrow.

The latest pre-orders include Mario Sports Superstars on Amazon Canada, along with the Poochy and standalone Wolf Link amiibo. Amazon UK has Mario Sports Superstars plus the amiibo card packs.

Last year, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on DeadLock from The Game Theorists to argue about motion controls. He’s back again, and this time he’s presenting a case for Nintendo to continue making consoles rather than just focusing on software alone. Check out the full video below. 

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment will be out on Switch before any other platform. Yacht Club Games recently said that it would be coming out during the system’s launch window, but didn’t provide any specific time frame.

On Nintendo’s website, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment is listed for March. It’s still not a concrete date, but that’s more definitive than launch window.

Pokemon GO

Niantic is in the process of rolling out another update for Pokemon GO. For iOS users, the game will be updated to version 1.25.0. For Android it’s version 0.55.0.

According to Niantic, Pokemon GO’s new update reduces the starting loading time on Android and addresses connectivity issues with Pokemon GO Plus on that platform. On iOS, wheelchair support has been integrated for use with Apple Watch. Minor text fixes are also implemented.

On February 9, nuGAME will be bringing out a new game on the European Wii U eShop. The action game Maze Break is slated for that date.
