Super Mario RPG is finally back after many years with a new Switch remake, and Yoko Shimomura has now confirmed her involvement. Shimomura was the original composer of the SNES RPG.
If you saw today’s trailer, you may have noticed that Super Mario RPG features updated music on Switch. Shimomura confirmed that she’s in charge of arranging all of the songs.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder revealed for Switch

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is coming to Switch. Fans will be able to pick it up on October 20, 2023.
While we’ve seen a couple of Super Mario Maker games, 2D Mario has largely been missing for many years. New Super Mario Bros. U launched for Wii U in 2012, and the New Super Luigi U expansion came out a year later. Both experiences were later ported to Switch, but we haven’t seen anything since then – again, outside of Mario Maker.

Zelda and Ganondorf Tears of the Kingdom amiibo announced

Zelda and Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are getting new amiibo, Nintendo has announced. They’ll be available this holiday.
Nintendo has not yet detailed what functionality these two figures will have in game.

Square Enix announces Star Ocean: The Second Story R for Switch

Square Enix is bringing Star Ocean: The Second Story R to Switch, the company announced today. The release date has been confirmed for November 2, 2023.
Star Ocean: The Second Story originally released for the PlayStation in 1998 in Japan, with the North American and European launch rolling out over the following years. It’s not the first time the RPG is seeing a re-release as an updated version known as Star Ocean: Second Evolution first appeared on the PSP.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 5 details revealed

Today’s Nintendo Direct wouldn’t have been complete without some news about the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, and we did get an update about the Wave 5 DLC. It will be available this summer.
Petey Piranha, Wiggler, and Kamek will be included as new characters. There’ll also be the new Squeaky Clean Sprint course.

Sonic Mania devs reveal 3D platformer Penny’s Big Breakaway for Switch
